Class of 2020 Graduation

June 8-20, 2020

To celebrate and honor the senior class of 2020, Knox County Schools will hold outdoor
graduation ceremonies June 8-20, 2020. These will be held at each school’s football field,
except for Career Magnet Academy, Paul Kelley Academy and L&N STEM Academy, which will
hold graduation ceremonies at Central High School. Ridgedale and K.A.E.C. will host graduation
ceremonies at their respective schools. Please find a schedule below.

Each graduate will be provided tickets to bring up to four guests. Please know that with the size
of our stadiums and the existing physical distancing guidelines, we cannot be certain everyone
will have a seat. However, we will do our best to accommodate guests around the bleachers
and perimeter of the fields.

While we would have preferred a traditional graduation, please know that school and district
staff are working hard to create a memorable celebration that students can be excited about
while still doing our part to keep our community safe.

Attendees will be expected to follow precautionary guidelines such as physical distancing

among guests, wearing a mask or cloth face covering and staying home if experiencing fever,
cough or other symptoms.

We understand that some may not be comfortable attending or able to attend. All ceremonies
will be live-streamed and recorded for on-demand viewing later. Additionally, each family will
receive a recording of their ceremony.

There is a possibility that diplomas and diploma covers may not be available in time for
graduation ceremonies. In these instances, a temporary certificate will be provided, and
diplomas and covers will be mailed to the student. We apologize for this inconvenience but the
COVID -19 virus has disrupted production in factories, impacted delivery schedules, and
interrupted printing schedules.
