3.1 Research Design

3.1.1 Historical Research Method

It is through this method that the researcher can further

study the problems and trends in exhibition design, technology and

communication. A historical method of research was conducted on the

following:

a. Evolution and History of the Convention Center in the

Philippines

b. History of the problems in agriculture and its effects

c. Contributions from the government and private

sectors on agriculture

3.1.2 Descriptive Method

The researcher gathered information regarding the

present trends on hotels, convention and exhibition design. The

method use here is Qualitative to easily and efficiently identify the data

needed for such trends. This research will also show the current

situation of the developments of similar designs and will therefore help

identify the major problems and difficulties in the building type.

The project that is the hotel and convention center requires demands

vital information from different areas of the society. This is so because to get

the data needed will improve the overall case for the viability and accuracy of

the project. The researcher went to the library to research about related books

and such. The researcher also plans to assess the viewpoint of the public

regarding the project by social survey.

3.2 Research Instruments

3.2.1 Photo Documentation

It shall cover the photo documentation of the site and

existing infrastructures in the area

3.2.2 Books

Related literature from the Miguel de Benavides Library

and books and magazines that is related with the designs of a

convention center and exhibition

3.2.4 Internet Research

This type of research provides up to date data that will

easily and efficiently give the researcher information otherwise

harder to find in a library.

3.3 Research Participants

3.3.1 Interview Participants

Open ended interviews with questionnaire to people that

are concern with the scope of the research. It conducts interview

that are vital to increase the authenticity of the research. This

type of research will back the overall research even more.

3.3.2 Survey Participants

The researcher will also distribute survey questionnaire to

determine the awareness of the public concerning with hotel and

the convention center.
