 ALIEN ABDUCTION

Betty and Barney Hill’s drove down the empty country road in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. It was a
September night in 1961, there were no cars, and a strange light in the sky seemed to follow them.

When they finally got home, their watches stopped working. Barney’s shoes were scuffed and Betty’s dress was
ripped. They drove two hours but they could not remember. What had happened?

With the help of a psychiatrist, they revealed an alarming story: Gray beings with big eyes took them into a metallic
disc big like, Betty said, their house. Once inside, the beings examined the couple and erased their mem ories.

They were astonished and frightened when they realized the truth; their experience was so strange and
unbelievable. The Air Force was interested in this story for the Project Blue Book that investigated UFO
sightings across the country. The incident became the first-ever publicized alien-abduction.

Some people said the husband and wife were liars, fantasists, crackpots or simply sleep-deprived people who later
recovered seriously scrambled memories.
