pronunciation for regular verbs.

Spelling rules for regular verbs in past:

§ Add “ed” to the verb: work-worked, play-played, clean-cleaned, visit-visited…

§ When the verb ends with “consonant + y”, write “ied”: study-studied, cry-cried, try-tried…
§ Consonant + vowel + consonant, the last consonant is doubled if the final syllable is stressed, except W, X, Y, and
Z: Stop-stopped, trap-trapped, prefer-preferred, permit-permitted..
§ but never, never and never: fix-fixed, allow-allowed, travel-traveled…

We use the verb in past just in affirmative, yes just affirmative, no negative no interrogative, just affirmative!
