Acts 2:1-4

Acts 2:1-4 NIV

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a
sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole
house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that
separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy
Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Galatians 5:16-21

Galatians 5:16-21 NIV

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the
flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the
flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you
want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. The acts of the
flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and
witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions,
factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before,
that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it
penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the
thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Ezekiel 37:7-10 NIV

So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a

noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. I looked, and
tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no
breath in them. Then he said to me, "Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of
man, and say to it, 'This is what the Sovereign lord says: Come, breath, from the
four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.'" So I prophesied as he
commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their
feet—a vast army.

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of
themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents,
ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control,
brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure
rather than lovers of God—

2 Kings 2:1-10

2 Kings 2:1-10 NIV

When the lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind, Elijah and
Elisha were on their way from Gilgal. Elijah said to Elisha, "Stay here; the lord has
sent me to Bethel." But Elisha said, "As surely as the lord lives and as you live, I
will not leave you." So they went down to Bethel. The company of the prophets at
Bethel came out to Elisha and asked, "Do you know that the lord is going to take
your master from you today?" "Yes, I know," Elisha replied, "so be quiet." Then
Elijah said to him, "Stay here, Elisha; the lord has sent me to Jericho." And he
replied, "As surely as the lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you." So they
went to Jericho. The company of the prophets at Jericho went up to Elisha and
asked him, "Do you know that the lord is going to take your master from you
today?" "Yes, I know," he replied, "so be quiet." Then Elijah said to him, "Stay
here; the lord has sent me to the Jordan." And he replied, "As surely as the lord
lives and as you live, I will not leave you." So the two of them walked on. Fifty men
from the company of the prophets went and stood at a distance, facing the place
where Elijah and Elisha had stopped at the Jordan. Elijah took his cloak, rolled it
up and struck the water with it. The water divided to the right and to the left, and
the two of them crossed over on dry ground. When they had crossed, Elijah said to
Elisha, "Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?" "Let me inherit
a double portion of your spirit," Elisha replied. "You have asked a difficult thing,"
Elijah said, "yet if you see me when I am taken from you, it will be yours—
otherwise, it will not."
