A Selection of Important Supplications to be

Remembered During the Covid-19 Pandemic 1

1. The Prophet sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam used to say:

‫اْلُ َذ ِام َو ِم ْن‬ ِ ُ‫اْلن‬


ْ ‫ون َو‬ ُْ ‫ص َو‬ ِ ‫ك ِم َن الَََْب‬
َ ِ‫اللَّ ُه َّم إِِّن أَعُوذُ ب‬
‫َس َق ِام‬
‫أل‬ ‫ا‬ ِ ‫س ِي‬
‫ء‬
ْ َّ
“ O’ Allah, I seek refuge in You from leprosy, elephantiasis,2
madness and evil diseases.” 3

2. The Prophet sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam used to supplicate with these
words:

‫ َو‬،‫ َو األَ ْه َو ِاء‬،‫َع َم ِال‬


ْ ‫ َو األ‬،‫الق‬ ِ ‫ات األَخ‬
ْ
ِ ‫اللَّه َّم جنِّب ِِن مْن َكر‬
َ ُ َْ ُ
‫األ َْد َو ِاء‬
“ O’ Allah, keep me away from vile manners, (vile) actions, (vile)
desires and (vile) diseases.” 4

3. The Prophet sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said:

“ Whomsoever says:

ِ ‫ضُّر َم َع ا ِْْس ِه َشيءٌ ِِف األ َْر‬


‫ض َو الَ ِِف‬ ‫ي‬ ‫ال‬
َ ‫ي‬‫ذ‬ِ َّ‫اَّلل ال‬
َِّ ‫بِس ِم‬
َُ ْ
‫يع الْ َعلِ ُيم‬‫م‬ِ ‫الس‬
َّ ‫و‬ ‫ه‬ ‫و‬ ِ ‫السم‬
‫اء‬
ُ َ ُ َ َ َّ
‘In the Name of Allah, by which nothing upon the Earth and in the
sky can harm with (the mention of) His Name, and He is The All-
Hearing, The All-Knowing’,

Waadi’ee, may Allah have mercy on him, as Saheeh in As-Saheeh-ul-Musnad Mimma Laysa Fee
Saheehain (No.1084, Vol.2, page 141, Daar-ul-Aathaar, Sana, 3rd Edition, 1426/2005).

three times (in the evening), a sudden affliction will not afflict him until he
wakes up in the morning. And whomsoever says it three times when he wakes
up in the morning, a sudden affliction will not afflict him until he reaches
evening time.” 5

4. In the morning and the evening, the Prophet sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam
used to say three times:

‫ اللَّ ُه َّم َعافِِِن ِِف‬،‫ اللَّ ُه َّم َعافِِِن ِِف َْسْعِي‬،‫اللَّ ُه َّم َعافِِِن ِِف بَ َدِن‬
‫ت‬َ ‫ن‬
ْ َ
‫أ‬ َّ
‫ال‬ ِ
‫إ‬ ‫ه‬َ‫ل‬ِ
َ ‫ الَ إ‬،‫ص ِري‬ َ َ‫ب‬
“ O’ Allah, give me good health in my body,
O’ Allah, give me good health in my hearing,
O’ Allah, give me good health in my sight.
None has the right to be worshipped except You.” 6

5. The Prophet sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said:

‫وء‬ َّ ِ‫ و در‬،‫الء‬
‫ك‬ ِ ‫َّلل ِمن جه ِد الْب‬
َِّ ‫تَع َّوذُوا ِِب‬

“ Seek refuge in Allah from the difficult situation of the calamity
(which cannot be endured or repelled), (from) being overtaken by a
miserable destruction (in the world and the hereafter), (from) the evil
of that which has been pre-decreed (for life, the point of death and the
hereafter) and (from) the malicious joy of the enemies during (your)
affliction.” 7

This supplication can be said as follows:

‫ك‬ ِ ‫اللَّه َّم إِِن أَعوذُ بِك ِمن جه ِد الْب‬

(O’ Allah, indeed I seek refuge in You from the difficult situation of
the calamity (which cannot be endured or repelled), (from) being

َِ ‫ و‬،‫ك‬ َ ِ‫فُجاء ِة نِْقمت‬

“ O’ Allah, indeed I seek refuge in You from the disappearance of
Your blessing, (from) the departure of the wellbeing that is from You,
(from) the suddenness of Your punishment and (from) all of Your
displeasure. “ 8

7. The Prophet sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam used to supplicate:

،ً‫اعدا‬ ْ َ ‫و‬ ،ً‫ا‬ ‫م‬ ْ ‫اللَّ ُه َّم‬
ِ ِ ‫و اح َفظِِْن ِِب ِإلس‬
َ‫ت ِِب َع ُد َّواً َو ال‬ ْ ‫ َو الَ تُ ْش ِم‬،ً‫الم َراقدا‬ ْ ْ َ
‫ َو‬،‫ك ِم ْن ُك ِّل َخ ٍري َخَزائِنُهُ بِيِ ِد َك‬ ُ‫ل‬َ‫أ‬
َ ْ ّ ُ‫َس‬‫أ‬ ‫ن‬ ِِ‫إ‬ ‫م‬َّ ‫ه‬َّ
‫ل‬ ‫ال‬ ،ً‫ا‬‫د‬ ِ

‫ك ِم ْن ُك ِّل َشٍّر َخَزائِنُهُ بِيِ ِد َك‬ َ ِ‫أَعُوذُ ب‬
“ O’ Allah, protect me with Islam whilst standing, protect me with
Islam whilst sitting and protect me with Islam whilst lying down. And
do not let my affliction be maliciously rejoiced over by an enemy or a
jealous one. O’ Allah, I ask You from every good which has its

treasures in Your Hand and I seek refuge in You from every evil
which has its treasures in Your Hand.” 9
