1- Advantages of a manual changeover switch :

is it costs significantly less to design, fabricate, and install than an
automatic transfer switch. It is also easier to install, smaller in
size, and can be fabricated much quicker than an automatic
switch.
2- Advantage of Photoelectric sensor:
➨It senses all kinds of materials.
➨It has longer life.
➨It has long sensing range and very reliable.
➨It has very fast response time.
➨It is less costly.
➨Diffuse photoelectric sensor detects small objects including
color mark and label detection.
➨Retro-reflective type can detect transparent objects.
➨Thru beam type can detect long range and it is tolerant of dirty
environment.
3- Advantages of Infrared Sensor are:
• Their low power requirements make them suitable for most
electronic devices such as laptops, telephones, PDAs.
• They are capable of detecting motion in presence/ absence of
light almost with same reliability.
• They do not require contact with object to for detection.
4- Advantages of optical fiber.
1. Higher bandwidth support
2. High carrying capacity.
3. Immunity to electromagnetic interference
and tapping.
4. Optical fiber are so flexible.
5. Optical fiber cables take up less space.
6. Less signal attenuation.
7. Resistance to corrosive materials

5- Advantage of laser sensors is:

that they can resolve measurements less than one micron at
reduced cost when compared to other technologies. Their
measurement range is also large, which enables them to meet a
wide range of application requirements.
