Dear graduates of Saint Vincent School, Maddela

Allow me to deviate a little bit from the usual greetings of

“Congratulations dear graduates” to “Congratulations to the Pandemic Class of 2020”

This is a strange congratulatory remark but this is our reality today as you debut to another
stage of your academic life. We haven’t seen you for almost 4 months now and the last time we
were together was during our Foundation Day Celebration. I know the feeling of discomfort and
boredom that you are undergoing because young as you are, you are supposed to enjoy an upbeat
life.

Yes, you are Pandemic Class not succumb to the COVID-19 virus but to survive and hurdle
difficulties in life. You graduated in this trying times and therefore you are made a heavy stuff,
strong, and resilient.

For 4 months you did not come to school but I’m sure you have learned a lot while you are
quarantined in your own homes. Maybe you have learned how to cook, how to maintain cleanliness
and some domestic chores… Perhaps you have gained new insights in your family relationships, joys,
and struggles…

This is education at its best.

These are uncertain times, these are difficult times, time of danger and death but it doesn’t
mean we stop dreaming

It does not mean we stop learning… Go forward, persist in achieving your goal.

If this life is a stage, this COVID-19 is just an intermission.

Proceed my dear graduates, proceed my dear students, proceed with the grace of God,
proceed with the love of Jesus. Journey with Saint Vincent Ferrer.
