ATTACHMENT REPORT

 I BEGIN MY FARM ATTACHMENT ON 19 JUNE 2017

 I WAS INTRODuced to mr zingware and mr jinya and
 They assigned tasks for us on welding(19/06/17 we collected metallic objects that may be
connected at most an acute angle for repairing fence breakages)
 We were attempting to solve issues on wiring up the damaged fence on the engineering
section
 We did weld the pices of materials that were supposed to be used(20/06)
 On 21/06/17 we visited farmec,an agric company which has got tractor sales
 Safety first
 Firstly ,mr tari one of the workers introduced us on how to run a tractor in the sense of
driving it
 There are 5 main processes which occur on operating a tractor
 The processes are engine operation,transmission,transexcel,suspension,and lastly
hydraulics.
 An tractor engine contains cylinders,aglomerators,(separates water and fuel).
 In cylinders that’s where ignition processes takes place
 Oil is preffered to be used becoz oil is anticorrosive,it acts as a lubricant.
 Also engine knocks are metallic sounds produced by an engine
 The fan for cooling an engine rotates clockwise(this is explained by newton second principle)
 On transmission,there concern for power and torque(spiral shaped gears).
 The power produced from an engine is converted into a very high torque.
 This is proved by the the equation p=tw.(according to hearn e.j )
 As power increases and angular velocity is reduced the torque of atractor increases.
 The angular velocity results from the rotation of gears and the fan winding.
 On trans excel,this process explains the link between the engine rotation and the gears .
 What happens is that the as the engine fan rotates clockwise,a bevel shaped gear connected
at 900
 Are used to transfer the torque inorder for the tractor to move forward.
 On suspension its about comfort on tractors especially seats,long ago the design were a little
bit poor as compared to recent ones .
 Massey ferguson trctors are designed in such a way that the seats have the ability to suck up
air according to one’s height and they are again seats which are able to compress
themselves
 On hydraulics its about the how the tractor raises up trailors or disc plough machine.
 Oil is mainly used becoz of its special properties like it obey the Bernoulli principles which
states that oil is incompressible and stream lines donot cross each other
 Also lifting no air bubbles are absorbed by oil
