2020 SHS MAB’S ROADMAP TO BAND CAMP

ALL STUDENTS, PARENTS AND STAFF MUST WEAR MASKS OR BANDANAS TO


ATTEND ANY REHEARSALS OR ENTER ANY SHS BUILDING OR FIELD. BEGIN
WEARING MASK/BANDANA ONCE YOU EXIT YOUR VEHICLE. MASKS/BANDANAS
MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES UNLESS WORKING ON A DRILL/EXERCISE AND SIX
FEET AWAY.

Every morning, all students will enter SHS through 1 of 2 doors. Students will enter the
same entrance at the beginning of every rehearsal:
-#1 Band room side door facing Norton St. (Brass, Percussion, Parents)
-#2 Auditorium loading dock door facing Norton St. (Woodwinds & Auxiliary)

SHS MAB Leadership Staff will have signs to help direct students arriving the first few days.

Students/parents will immediately have temperature checked as they enter SHS facility by
SHS Band Staff. Those who look sick or have a fever will be sent home. Students who are
determined to go home and need to be picked up will be held in an area of quarantine
depending on where they enter. Once a parent calls them that they have arrived, parents
will not enter the building but the student will exit the quarantine area to be picked up by
their parent. (Parents should plan to park in the parking lot and wait for their student to
enter SHS before leaving)

Upon having a normal temperature and looking healthy: Students who enter the band room
(door #1) will get instruments and be directed to the auditorium by SHS Band Staff.
Students who enter SHS (door #2) will be directed to the auditorium. Students who enter
SHS (door #2) will have an opportunity to go to the band room for instruments, flags, or
props upon exiting the auditorium.

Once all students are in their designated sections in the auditorium, SHS Band Staff will
address 2020 SHS MAB with a start-of-the-day briefing. Upon dismissing from the briefing,
students will be informed where to report and accompany those who need instruments,
flags, or props to band room to get them.
Throughout the day, mask/bandana must remain on until everyone is six feet apart and drill
or exercise begins. Once students complete a drill or exercise, masks/bandanas must be
put back on to go on breaks.

Students will have 2 water bottles provided for them daily during band camp. No sharing of
water will be allowed and students are encouraged to bring their own thermos or cooler
from home filled up with water (this gives them their thermos/cooler plus 2 water bottles).

Each time all students enter SHS buildings they must enter through their assigned door.
Any other time, using the closest door to enter SHS buildings is acceptable.

Meals will be served in different locations. Students will be briefed on instructions of each
venue before going to the destination for the meal.

At the end of rehearsals, students will be given cleaning wipes to wipe down their music
stand and area. Students will use the same music stand every day.

At the end of the day, students will re-enter to the SHS Auditorium through their assigned
door and sit in their designated area. Once all students are present in auditorium, SHS
Band Staff will deliver end-of-the-day briefing. Upon dismissal from rehearsal, students will
exit in waves and may exit through any door. Reminder that masks/bandanas must be worn
until students are in their vehicle to leave campus.

SHS MAB LEADERSHIP

All 2020 SHS MAB Student Leadership will arrive 30 minutes before every rehearsal begins
and leave 30 minutes after every rehearsal ends. Leadership students will learn procedures
and responsibilities during 2 days of leadership camp from 9 AM - 3 PM on July 29 & 30.
