Title Standard Operating Procedure flows measuring work in various ducts

1.0 Purpose:
To provide guidelines for safe flow measuring.

2.0 Scope:
Kiln, Coal mill, raw mills, Cement mill and crushers.

3.0 Responsibility:
HOD Operation and Process Engineer, is responsible for implementation of this SOP.

4.0 Measurement Preconditions.

 Wear the Personnel Protective Equipments like Helmet, Nose Mask, asbestos hand gloves,
goggles and apron etc.
 Ensure there is no spillage of hot/cold material.
 Ensure the steady state condition in the measuring section
 Inform to the CCR persons for adequate negative pressure to be maintained and not to make
frequent changes in any process parameters still measurement is completed.
 Ensure all necessity process instruments are available.
 Check the process instruments calibration validity.
5.0 Procedure
 Identify the measuring points in the pre heater, cooler and other areas.
 Communicate with CCR operator for adequate negative pressure to be maintained.
 Working personnel should wear asbestos gloves, goggles, shoes and apron etc. especially at the
hot zone area.
 Ensure the safety when approaching/working at the heights.
 Measure air flows at required points with proper instrument.
 Instruct people to escape to a safe place if there is any positive pressure while measuring the
flows.

EnMS;

1. Calibrate the equipment before due date of calibration

2. Un authorized not allow to use this equipment
3. Calculate the service life equipment for procurement
4. Avoid the Idle use of equipment
