I. Observation and Calculation of Differential Leveling

b. Procedure
1. The preparation of tools and materials that will be used to make measurements
2. Determine the location that will be done for measurement
3. After that, determine the point of establishment of the tool and points A and B to be
measured
4. Set up a tripod for the waterpass tool holder with the height of the tripod in
accordance with your chest
5. Then adjust the upright tool by using the foot screw on the bottom side of the tool so
that the nivo bubble is in the middle, because the tool's rigidity is in the presence of
the nivo bubble in the middle
6. Place the leveling rods at point A as the back reading and B as the pre-determined
reading
7. Then start with the first measurement which is pointing the tool at point A, when the
leveling rod has not been seen rotate the horizontal movers screw slowly until it
looks at the leveling rod then focus using the objective focusing screw, if the stadia
lines on the blm device seem to focus using the eyepiece focusing ring .
8. After everything has been seen start by measuring and reading data
9. Reading the data that is reading the numbers on the leveling rod in accordance with
the upper stadia mark, center line reading, lower stadia mark, then write the data in
the data table that has been determined.
10. Take measurements as in the steps above on point B.

I can learn from this practice is that I learn again to use each measurement tool and remember
the usefulness of each part of the measuring instrument, and can calculate the data generated
from that practice.
