OBJECTIVES:

By the end of the lesson the students will be able to:


1. - to give examples of adjectives describing feelings
2. - to acquire new adjectives describing feelings
3. - to give synonyms to adjectives describing feeling
4. - to use their own experience when talking about their feelings
5. - to express what they might feel in different situations

ACTIVITY 1: WARM UP –

 The teacher greets the students and asks for the absents;
 The teacher checks the homework assignment;

 The teacher asks the students the following questions :

 If you were an instrument ,what would you like to be and why?


 What is your favourite Christmas memory?
 Where do you go and what do you do to relax?
 If you were in a band ,what kind of music would you play?
 What TV show (past or present)do you most identify with?
 What is your favourite season of the year ?Why?
 If a movie was made about yor life ,what actor/actress would you like you?
 If you were a vegetable ,what vegetable would you be?
 If you woke up tomorrow as an animal ,what animal would you like to be?
 If you could live anywhere on this planet and take everything that you love
with you ,where would you live?
 What favourite colour are you and how does being that colour make you feel?

Students answer those questions .

ACTIVITY 2:

LEAD-IN:
Teacher asks students questions related to feelings and emotions.

 What makes you smile?


 What makes you cry?
 What makes you yell?
 What makes you happy?
 What makes you angry?
 What do you feel when you see an old man begging on the street?
What is your reaction when you watch a football match?
Student A, student B , student C and student D ,student E, student F answer.

ACTIVITY 3:

Teacher asks students to open the book at page 38 and take a look at those pictures.

Teacher asks students to match the images to the events (exercises 1/page 38)
Teacher asks students to use the adjectives ,, shy ,surprised ,thrilled ,nervous
,disappointed ,worried,, to answer the following questions (ex.2/page38)
Which childhood do you remember clearly?
What happened?

Teacher writes the title of the new lesson on the blackboard

Teacher asks students to read the dialogues ( page39) using role play.
Teacher asks students to find out the adjectives related to feelings and emotions .
Student A write the adjectives on the blackboard.

Activity 4
Teacher splits the students up into groups of four .
Each group gets a handout .They have to write the letter for each number to solve
the answer.
There are adjectives related to feelings and emotions.
Student A and Student B write the adjectives on the blackboard.
Teacher asks students to tick the positive adjectives, to cross the negative adjectives
and underline the adjective which describes them today.

Activity 5

Students are watching a short film .Students have to say the adjectives which
describe the best what happened in the film .Teacher gives them a list with the
adjectives related to emotions and feelings.
Teacher split the students up in 2 groups.Each group gets a crossword puzzle with
adjectives.Teacher checks them.
Teacher gives students a worksheet with adjectives (17).Students have to match the
description to the adjectives.Teacher checks their answers.

Feedback

Teacher asks students to choose an adjective related to emotions and feelings and
write on the blackboard.Student A,student B, student C write them on the blackboard.
