Chief Mate (fulltime)

As Chief Mate you are responsible for the loading and unloading of the vessel, deck maintenance and the
related administration. You perform your navigational watch keeping duties and manage the deck crew so
they perform to the best of their abilities. If there is no additional navigational officer on board you will take
care of the voyage planning and maintain the safety equipment on board. You will replace the Master in his
absence.

Job requirements
• Certificate of Competency; Chief Mate
• people manager who leads, motivates, inspires, and encourages
• flexibility, inventiveness and a high sense of responsibility
• a practical hands-on team oriented work attitude
• good administrative-, communications- and social skills
• experience as Chief Mate on general cargo vessels or at least as 2nd Officer or Navigational Officer on a
comparable vessel. An education as Maritime Officer is an advantage
• a very good knowledge of the English language, both in spoken word and in writing
• practical computer experience.
