Reflection

The concept of self-efficacy and prosocial behavior just came up to me just while in the midst of
picking a topic for our research paper. The term self-efficacy as defined is how well one can execute
courses of action required to deal with prospective situations. It is the capability of an individual to
perform a specific task under some circumstances, wherein one might benefit or might not benefit from it.
The term prosocial behavior in other hands, is a social behavior that benefit other people or society as a
whole, such as helping, sharing, donating, co-operating, and volunteering. It is the willingness of an
individual to help another individual or society as a whole. As we go through with the topic, we decided
to relate the factors to the self-efficacy and prosocial behavior of students as the variables for the study.
Starting off with the title we have chosen for our study, we then begin to chapter 1, the introduction, this
part of the paper is very challenging. From the introduction to the conceptual framework is all I can say is
very confusing at times but at the end of the day we actually have finished it. Then continuing to chapter
2, the methodology, this part is somewhat I can call easy to make for all we have to do is to relate the title
and chapter 1 from it. We managed to use proper data and procedure for it, it was actually a piece of cake.
Then the day of our defense, it was going smooth on first but as it moves forward to the conclusion, this is
where the terror begin. As the panels states to us every mistake in our paper, what should be used or redo.
Well it actually didn't go very well, so after that day we then revised our whole paper especially the
statement of the problem still the topic stays the same. Now this where the hardest part of the paper is,
chapter 3, the data collecting or surveys, we then started on it quickly. The validation letter to be made
with the questionnaire were to be given out to the validators where they will validate our questionnaire if
is very essential to be used. Well of course it didn’t go too well from the first try, we then revised again
our questionnaire but this time we related it to the statement of the problem, wherein on the second try
our questionnaire got validated and it actually very overwhelming. The real part is yet to start, by
collecting data from the students, it is actually very hard for we have chosen 182 students as our study. It
was so very frustrating actually, we don’t know how can we manage that lot of numbers, but of course in
the end we manage to finished it. We were so very happy that time. In the end, all I can say is, research is
very challenging for my opinion. But it is worth a while to do since it has helped me a lot, I’ve learned a
lot from it. It can also really be helpful at college since there's a lot of research to be done there. The
experience of it made my senior school year very memorable, I would actually like to do it again.
