The document summarizes a power control system simulation for maintaining power supply and demand balance. The simulation models an automatic frequency controller (AFC) loop that uses a speed governor and load reference actuator to adjust turbine output power to match changes in load demand. A supplementary control loop with an integral controller is also modeled to restore any steady state frequency deviations back to the nominal value. The overall automatic generation control (AGC) system, consisting of the primary AFC loop and supplementary loop, works to continuously balance real power output with demand to keep the power system in equilibrium.

Frequency controller simulation
Automatic frequency controller The main part of power system operation and control is to maintain continusus supply of power with an acceprable quality ,to all consuemrs in the system the stystm will be in equilibrium when there is generated as the power in AC form has real and reactive power component the real power balance as well as the reactive power balance is to be achieved there are two baxic control mechanism used to achieve reactive balance (acceptable voltage profile )and real power. The primary component to consider are the synchronous generators the prim movers (hydraulic and steam turbine)the speed governing system which includes the governer and the load reference actuator (speed changer) the unit control AGC is shown in the attached matlab simulation modle the modle is called primary ALFC loop it achieve the primary goal of real power balance by adjusting the the turbine outpout power to match the change in load demand all praticipating generating units contriute to the change in generation but a change in load results in a steady state frequency deviation the restoration of the frequency to the nominal value requires an additional control loop called supplementary loop this objective met by using integral controller which makes the frequency deviation Zero the ALFC with the supplementary loop is generally called AGC. Note:The parameters in the modles are randoly set
