A tale of 2 rivers

This lovely scarf tells the story of two rivers flowing through an Irish rocky landscape.
This highly structured pattern showcases two not so traditional cables, easy to work once
memorized.
I used Pingouin “Le Yarn 3 chiné” to make mine, but any well defined Aran yarn of your choice
will do just as well.
This unisex pattern measures approx. 23 cm x 140 cm/ 9”x55”.

Materials :
- 4,5 skeins of Pingouin “Le Yarn 3 chiné”
– one pair of needles n° 5 (US 8)
– one pair of needles n° 5,5 (US 9)
– one cable needle (CN)
– one tapestry needle

Gauge :
18 st and 22 rows in stockinette with needles n°5 (US 8) = 10 cm x 10 cm (4”x4”).
Gauge is not critical for this pattern.

Stitches :
“Reverse stockinette” : Pearl on right side, Knit on wrong side.
“moss stitch” : 1st row (right side) : *K1, P1* repeat.
2d and 4th row (wrong side) : knit the knits, purl the purls till end of row.
3d row (right side) : knit the purls, purl the knits.
Repeat those 4 rows.
