Pedagogy

Online Activity The students will be given the link to access the fraction builder
website. After a small lesson, the teacher will assign a certain
amount of levels for the students to attempt while in their
online class. When the students log on, they will select “Build a
Fraction” from the menu. They will not need a microphone or a
web camera. This stimulation will be used during classes and as
a homework or practice assignment. During online classes, the
teacher will give examples of the fractions as far as what they
look like when written with a numerator and denominator, and
what they look like in an image such as a pie chart or diagraph of
some sort. After the lesson is over, the students will log on to
the fraction website and complete their levels and screenshot
their success to be sent to the teacher before class is over,
almost as an exit slip assignment. This will help the teacher to
see what else needs to be worked on and how long the levels
are taking the children. The stimulation shows to written
fraction and asks for the student to create the pie chart of the
fraction that matches the written number. Should the students
have any trouble, they can chat the teacher on the online class
chat for guidance.
