INTRODUCTION
Relaxo Footwears Limited was founded in 1976 and is headquartered in New Delhi, India. The
company engages in the production and sale of footwear primarily in India. It is one of the
largest producers of footwear in India with an estimated business value of 17 billion last year.
It has 8 start-of-art manufacturing units spread in northern part of India and has a fine
combination of comfort, style, and workmanship under its popular brands. The company values
live by overpowering simplicity and absolute effectiveness.
BACKGROUND
The company was incorporated in Sep 13 1984 as a private limited company to market the
products of group concerns such as hawai slippers light weight slippers canvas shoes PVC
footwear etc. The company was converted into a public limited company on March 31 1993.
In the year 1995-96 the company has transformed from solely a Trading/marketing agency to
that of a full/fledged manufacturing unit by putting up a facility to produce 50000 pairs of
hawai and lightweight chappals per day on a two-shift basis.
In the year 1999 the company has expanded the capacity of its Bahadurgarh plant. The
company has implemented a Hitech Hawai manufacturing plant at Bhiwadi (Rajasthan)
which is the largest Hawai manufacturing plant in India during the year 1999-2000.
During FY 2017 the Company opened net 20 new retail outlets across India.
The Company launched the e-wallet payment mode at all retail outlets to support cashless
payments.
Additionally, it also launched its online shopping mobile application to cater to consumers
who prefer online buying
In FY 2018 the Company has achieved landmark target of opening 300th exclusive retail
outlet.

EMPLOYEES
The company employs over 2500 personnel who are well trained in their respective production
activities including 400 officials spread over all 9 manufacturing units and the corporate office.
Employees are induced to in house training programs and outside workshops sponsored by
leading institutions to broaden their existing working knowledge and experience.
