Marie Weeks Honored for 58 Year Membership in DKG

On Sunday, September 15, 2020, Alpha Tau Chapter members and friends joined
in celebrating Marie Weeks’ fifty-eighth year of membership in Delta Kappa
Gamma Society International, an organization that recognizes key women
educators. Since her induction into DKG in 1961, Mrs. Weeks has served in
various offices of the organization, including that of President of the Marion
County chapter in the 1980-1982 biennium.
Mrs. Weeks began her forty-one-year career in education at Winfield High
School where she taught typing and shorthand. Later she transferred to Marion
County High School and then to Brilliant High School where she taught Senior
English until she retired.
Alpha Tau Chapter members were pleased to welcome the DKG Alabama State
First Vice-President, Penny Christian, to the reception. Ms. Christian brought
congratulations and best wishes to Mrs. Weeks from State President Teresa
Noell.
