A SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MATHEMATICS 9

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
1. perform operations on radical expressions:
(a) Multiplying radicals with the same order, and
(b) Dividing radicals with the same order.

A. Preparation
1. Greetings
2. Checking of attendance
3. Drill on:
“Similar and Dissimilar Radicals” and “Simplifying Radicals”
4. Motivation: DaMATH – Radical Damath

B. Presentation

Discussion
1. Multiplication of radicals
a. Will you give sample of radicals or radical expression?
b. Give examples of multiplying radicals. Perform.

2. Division of radicals
a. Again, will you give sample of radicals or radical expression?
b. Give examples of dividing radicals. Perform.

Fixing Skills
1. Do “Activity 11: What’s the Message?”
Do you feel down even with people around you? Don’t feel low. Decode the
message by performing the following radical operations. Write the words
corresponding to the obtained value in the box provided.
C. Generalization
Group Work: “MULTIPLY-MULTIPLY, DIVIDE-DIVIDE”: The teacher will group
the students into six. Each group will choose one item for them to
explain/present to the class.
