III. PROCEDURES
A. Preliminary Activities
1.Drill Identifying things that are liquids that are found in our home.
( say Yes if it is liquid and say boom! if it is not)
1. vinegar 5. plate
2. glass 6. milk
3. sugar 7. shampoo
4. juice 8. spoon

2.Review Write the equivalent grams and kilograms

1. 3000 grams= ________kilograms

2. 10000 grams= _______kilograms

3. 5 kilograms = ________grams

4. 7 kilograms= ________grams

5. 8000 grams= ________grams

B.Developmental Activities
1. Introduction and Presentation Present a real container with Liter(L) label and a bottle with a milliliter (ml) label
a. Motivation
What can say about the picture? ( a container with label of liter and a bottle with
milliliter(ml) label)
Do you know what is liter means? how about milliliter?

Class, today we will learn about the capacity of measurement using milliliter (mL) or
Liter(l)
Base from my statement what are the motive question can you raise?
b. Presentation When do we use milliliter (mL) and liter (L)?
Possible Question:
(It depends on pupils answer)
( Setting of Standard)
But before I start with my discussion, what are you going to do?

1. Teaching - Modelling
Present a bottle of 1 liter filled with water and and a bottle of 300ml
Say: This 1 liter bottle is full of water and now let’s pour water in this 300 ml bottle ,this
bottle is full so we can see there is some more water in this bottle . Therefore, the
capacity of liter is more than milliliter
Present measuring devices.

C. Discussion

 This are the devices use to measure the capacity of liquid in a container.
Present 2 plastic bottles of mineral water ( 300ml bottle and 4 liter bottle)
This 2 containers contains different amount of water This container (show the bigger
container) contains 4 liters of water while a other container (show the smaller
container)contains 300 ml of water . I am going to compare this 2 containers. So,
container with 4 liters of water is bigger than a container 350 milliliter of water . A
bigger container is measured by liter (L) while a smaller container is measured by
milliliter(ml).
 Give more example of container using ml and L
Dropper, injection, plastic bottle, cup, glass, shampoo, etc.
The milliliter and liter are the units of measurement used to measure the amount or the
capacity of liquid in each container.
Liquid needs a container.
 Liter (L) is used to measure the amount of liquid in a bigger or large container
 L stand for liter .
 Milliliter (ml) is used to measure the amount of liquid in a smaller container.
 1 dropper is equivalent to 1 ml
ml stand for milliliter.
ESP / Heath Integration:
Water is liquid and we cannot live without water. Now a days a lot of people suffer a
water shortage. How can we conserve water?
Can you give some ways to do make our water safe and clean?

2.Guided Practice
Now , I have her a different picture and let us identify what capacity of measurements
used for every container or pack.
Let us group it according to capacity measure milliliter (ml) and liter (L)

milliliter (ml)
Liter(L)

 a gallon of water a pitcher of water

 1.5L soft drinks bottle shampoo sachet
 medicine bottle a pack of soy sauce
Science Integration:
What are we going to do if there are a lot of plastic bottles and wrapper in our home?
Are we going to throw it in a garbage? Why?

3. Independence Practice

Everybody act like this if the picture measure in milliliter and

like this if the picture measure in liter .

:
Now, I will group you into 3 groups. Each
group will answer the question written on the Activity Books.
Value Integration:
What are you going to do to understand and able to answer the different
D. Application: question immediately?

Group1
Put a check (/) to the picture that can hold a liter of liquids and cross (X) if it is not

1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

________ ________ ________ ________ ________

__ __ __ __ __
Group 2
Group the container according to their capacity of measure

Group 3

Write mL or L for the unit you will use to measure each.

______1.

______2.

______3.

______4.

______5.

We use liter (L) to measure the capacity of liquid in larger container.

We use milliliter (mL) to measure the capacity of liquid in a smaller container
E. Generalization:

IV. Evaluation Identify the unit of measurement use in each picture. Draw to the box of your
answer.
V. Assignment List name of containers that can hold more than 1 liter and more than 1 ml.

VI. REFLECTION
