Data Collection Timeline

Carli, Benjamin and Cory are all working together on their research project. Here are the roles
of each group member:

The group decided to do a case study on a new planning tool for 19 patients. Currently, they
are finishing up week 16 and are completing the timeline as they progress in the research.
During week 12, one of the patients did not meet criteria and was excluded from study bringing
the number from 20 down to 19 patients. Also, the group simplified the study by limiting only
the heart and PTV for dose evaluations. During week 16, while entering data into the
spreadsheet, precise dose values were hard to measure for evaluation. A physicist at Carli’s
center told her she would need to copy the original plans of each patient, paste them 6 times
and manually adjust isocenter in the – and + x, y, and z directions. After re-calculating all of
these plans, precise dose values were able to be measured for evaluation. All the data
collection was completed during week 16, and the data analysis is now being performed by
Ben.
