2. Packing concepts in normal concretes and SCCs. Effects of aggregate sizes and
powder ratios in reducing energy waste to facilitate self-compacting systems.
4. Discovering the conventional and novel SRMs and the techniques and conditions
best suited for their use in SCCs. Study of effects of Acacia Nicolita gum, mineral
admixtures, EMT and fibers on fresh and hardened properties of SCPs. Special
consideration will be given to researches that allow partial replacement of cementious
materials with local waste materials in SCCs without adversely affecting its properties.
6. Studying the specific behavior of SCCs in hot weather concreting and publishing
recommendations for qualitative assessment of its fluid form, proper placement and
curing methods.
8. Exploring the potential uses of SCC beyond its well-established scope in prestressed
concretes and possibly identifying situations where SCC would be best suited for use.
Identification of problems that could possibly be avoided by using SCCs instead of
NCs.
10. Publishing a comprehensive summary of the study and recommendations for SCC
use in Pakistan.
