Materials Needed and Physical Classroom Prep:

 Press Conference Banner/ Background (Maybe with a PowerPoint)
 Reporting microphones
 Poster Paper to write things
 Name tags in a press conference.
 Camera if possible

Procedure: Time:
Do Now/Hook:
 Do the “Hot Potato” recall activity again.
 Recall materials that they have learnt in this week
 The students will pass an object around the room while music is
playing and when the music stops, the student will have to say
something about the previous lessons (E.g. what we did and what 15 mins
content did we cover)
 The activity is done before already when I wanted them to recall
materials from LP1 during LP2 and also during LP6, so they should be
familiar with the activity. Reusing it can make them understand that
we are trying to recall knowledge quickly, setting up a routine.
 The aim of the hook is to quickly go over the week’s materials again
so that the students can use it to apply in this lesson

 They will have 15 minutes to come up with some improvements and

explanations. After that, they will present their solutions.
 The students will come up with the possible improvements on a small
piece of paper, one on each paper.
 The students will come out and draw out a paper to read it

Direct Instruction/Modeling & Student Practice/Application:

 The students will role play as the head of the education bureau of Hong 25-30
Kong and try to come up with improvements for Hong Kong. mins
 I will try to set up the classroom like a press conference so that it
makes the class more fun and interesting.
 It is also possible that I will ask follow up question as if I am a
reporter. Students that are not presenting can also act as a reporter and
ask questions.

Wrap up/Closure:
 Depending on the time, I may do a concluding discussion to reiterate
some of the content that we went through.
 But if they have a positive response to the activity, I may let the
activity run until time is up. 5 mins
