Program Title: Enrichment Program for Professional Teachers

Course Description:
This 2 day seminar workshop was designed to provide teachers with the needed knowledge and skills of the current trends in
educations; specifically, on the three modules which are (1) managing 21st century classrooms, (2) professional self-development and
stress management, and (3) the teaching profession and the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST). This seminar
workshop shall engage participants in relevant discussions on the trends, issues and challenges on teacher education, teaching and
learning as well as gain insights regarding stress management and design personal stress management strategy and techniques that
could be applied in daily lives.

Entry Competencies of Participants (Prerequisites): None

Course Objectives/Learning Outcomes:

Module 1 - Managing 21st century classrooms


At the end of the course, the teachers will be able to:
 Evaluate current procedures used in the classroom
 Develop appropriate rules for the classroom
 Develop consequences and rewards for rules
 Develop appropriate procedures to insure a well-managed classroom
 Evaluate the importance of cooperative learning environment
 Develop a personal growth plan

Module 2 - Professional Self-Development and Stress Management for Teachers


At the end of the course, the teachers will be able to:
 Gain an understanding on professional self-development
 Evaluate current level of professional growth
 Analyze opportunities for continuing education
 Develop awareness on the mediators of stress
 Evaluate the best coping strategies to stress that could be applied to one selves
 Design a personal strategy to cope up stress
 Design personal techniques to cope up stress

Module 3: The Teaching Profession and the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers
At the end of the course, the teachers will be able to:
 Show understanding of the PPST
 Discuss the role of teachers in nation building
 Explain the current educational reforms, national and global frameworks, changing educational landscapes and 21 st century
learners
 Make critical improvements to teaching and learning
 Determine the level of career stage of the teacher
 Develop strategic plans for improvement in teacher career stages
