Work Instruction for Inspection and Reporting.

1. Whenever the casting offered for inspector, the QC inspector shall find out
corresponding docket file and verify the availability of relevant drawing &
inspection plan of 1Factory.
2. Capture the details of casting on to the inspection register while receiving
for inspection.
3. To verify the correct revision of drawing, review monthly dispatch plan and
KM purchase order.
4. Perform dimensional inspection and verify its compliance to drawing
requirement.
5. Record the measurements in inspection plan. If the dimension
measurements are in compliance with drawing requirement, the inspection
results will be reviewed by Senior Inspector for acceptance. The booking on
Synchro will be done accordingly and casting will be moved to next stage
and inspection register will be updated accordingly.
6. For any deviation in particular dimension, mark that particular location on
the casting for re-work (e.g grinding / welding). On Synchro, move the
casting to re-work stage. Update the register and get it acknowledged from
Fettling Supervisor.
7. Once dimensional inspection is accepted, provide inspection plan to
document controller to prepare the report in 1Factory and get it reviewed
by senior inspector for acceptance. The finalization of report is to be done in
maximum 3 working days.
8. Share the inspection report with responsible Customer Support Engineer
through e-mail.
9. Do LPT inspection as per the technical specification. Mark the un-acceptable
indications for re-work.
10. Do confirm dimensional verification of the part, if any major re-work is
performed due to LPT.

11.Move the casting in Synchro ERP to re-work stage if not accepted in LPT
otherwise move to next stage. Keep the record of LPT inspection in the
database. Prepare the report once accepted.
12.Perform Visual inspection as per MSS-SP 55 and or technical specification.
Mark any surface irregularities for re-work.
13.Move the casting in Synchro ERP to re-work stage if not accepted in VT
otherwise move to next stage. Keep the record of VT inspection in the
database. Prepare the report once accepted.
14. Once required NDT and dimensional inspection is accepted, fill the Dispatch
Clearance Checklist and forward the checklist to Dispatch Department for
further processing.
