Hazrat Shah Raju Qattal Hussaini Khuldabad

     His name is Hazrat Syed Yousuf Hussaini and well known as

Shah Raju Qattal. He was the father of Hazrat Mohammed
Hussaini Banda Nawaz well known as Gesu Darwaz Hussaini.
And Hazrat Syed Yousuf Hussaini and his father Syed Shah Ali
Hussaini both were disciplines of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya.
And who were also benefitted by favour of Hazrat Khaja
Naseeruddin Chirag Dehlavi. 
    His father Syed Shah Ali Hussaini has three sons and the
details are as follows.
1.Hazrat Syed Yousuf Hussaini Shah Raju Qattal
2.Syed Jalaluddin
3.Syed Gul Bahar

     Syed Yousuf Hussaini Shah Raju Qattal who has four sons
and one daughter. First is Syed Hussain and his title is known as
Chanda Hussaini and his grave is found beside his father’s tomb
on the eastern side in Khuldabad. And the second is Syed Gesu
Daraz and his tomb is in Gulberba. And third, one Syed Ahmed,
who was died at an early age. And fourth is Syed Ali Hussaini,
who was died without children.
Genealogical record: His genealogical record connected with
Zaid Shaheed to Hazrat Ali Ibn Taleb and which commence as
follows.

  Mohammed Ali Samani who wrote in book Sair
Mohammedi that “ Shah Raju Qattal died on 13th Zeqad.”
     Iqbaluddin Ahmed, who wrote in Tadhira Gesu Daraz that
“Still Hazrat Gesu Daraz who was 11 years old then at that time
his father died. Syed Yousuf Huaaini Raja who was died on 5th
Shawwal in the year 731 Hegira and Shah Raju has died in
Khuldabad and he was buried in that place. In the
book Armagan Sultani it is written that “ Shah Raju died in
Khuldabad in the year 732 Hegira. Ranaq Ali, Bashiruddin, and
Azad Bilgrami recorded his year of the death as 5th Shawwal in
the year 731 Hegira and corresponding to 12th September 1331.
Abdul Jabbar Malkapuri who has agreed this year of death. The
author of the book Tariq Qandahar, Munshi Ameer Hamza who
wrote Shah Raju’s year of the death as 5th Shawwal in the year
732 Hegira. But as per the statement of Abdul Qader Sarfaraz
that Shah Raju, who was died in the year 590 Hegira
corresponding to the year 1392. And his reason is that the
book Tuhfatal Nasaeh of Hazrat Shah Raju is written during this
year. Iqbal Ahmed has written that from the distance of 3 Kose
(from one and a quarter to three miles) from the fort of
Doulatabad there is an area of graves of the holy persons in
which outside of the boundary Shah Raju was buried there. On
every first Thursday of every lunar month, there will be a visit to
a large number of people of the devotees. In Sair
Mohammedi the statement of Mohammed Ali Samani is
different in this matter. He wrote that “Syed Raja was died in

Khuladabad and buried near the courtyard. And in this matter,

he has quoted the saying of Hazrat Khaja Bande Nawaz in this
matter.
The endeavours of teaching: He has spent his life of a famous
holy person as well as a Sufi personality. As he was a learned
person who acted as per knowledge as well as he was a person
of ascetic and pity and done many endeavours. From his prayers
of obligatory, Sunnah, and supererogatory prayers he never has
been lapsed by him during his lifetime. He was incomparable in
the knowledge of manifest of the Islamic jurisprudence, exegesis
and Hadith (Ḥadīth ( ‫حديث‬ Aṯhar Arabic pronunciation:, plural.
aḥādīth, ‫أحاديث‬, ʼaḥādīth, Arabic pronunciation: [ literally means
"talk" or "discourse") or Aṯhar (Arabic: ‫األثر‬, Aṯhar, literally
means "tradition") in Islam refers to what Muslims believe to be
a record of the words, actions, and the silent approval of the
Islamic Prophet Muhammad Hadith has been called "the
backbone" of Islamic civilization and exegesis of the Holy
Quran. 
      In his books Tuhfatal Nasaih which is written by him. And
which he has written for his son Hazrat Gesu Daraz in the
Persian language. And which is a treasure of wisdom and
advice. In this book there are 40 chapters are there on different
topics. For the reader's study, we are presenting a translation of
some couplets into the English as follows.
1. To perform prayer at the proper time and if you leave, then
you will be unlucky and if you leave permanently then you will
have become an infidel person and your place is hell.
2. Be silent upon hearing the prayer call. And do not talk and do
not engage in the work. And go on replying phrases of prayer
call. If did not reply phrases of prayer call and if you talk at that
time than at soon there will be coming of calamity upon you.

3. To pray of Chast (mid-morning prayer) prayer and do not

lapse prayer of Ishraq (mid-morning prayer) then you will
become a wealthy person. And you will get so much get wealth
and riches.
4. At the midnight at the time of Tahjud supererogatory prayer
time pray with sincerity of the heart. Then you will see the
reality surely. And you will be safe and from difficulties and
problems.
5. After finishing the prayer recite the verse of the throne (Ayat
Al-Kursi) then heaven and houri will be fond of you and you
will eat the fruits of heaven.
6. Till performance of Eisha prayer do not sleep on the bed. And
do not put your head on the pillow. 
    He was a poet of his time and he has written couplets of
advice in the Persian and Urdu languages.
 His book Dewan Raja (collected odes of the single poet)
and Masnavi Raja (verse comprising couplets) which are very
famous.
     The author Dr. Shaikh Ejaz who wrote the
book Sufi Samperdaya in which he has written that he has a
Dewan of his poetry known as Dewan Raja. This book is still
found in Nizams’ Asifia library Hyderabad. And in this Dewan,
there are available odes, encomiums, and eulogy, etc., are there.
There is in the poem and its title is Noor Elahi and in which
Shah Raja has given a good statement of the existence of Allah
with his attributes as well as his personality in a very beautiful
style of description. And in the poem, he has used his poetic
name Raja.
   There is his famous poem in Persian known as Tuhfatal
Nasaseh who was written for guidance and advice to his son
Hazrat Gesu Daraz. This poem was translated from Persian into

the Deccani language by Qutub Zari at the request of his

spiritual master Shah Abul Hasan. He said which is as follows.

Tuhfa is in origin Persian but done  translation into Decani

On instruction of Shah Abul Hasan, who is the king of worlds

With Shah Raju, there is connected one more magazine in

poetry which named “Suhagan-Nama” and its one manuscript is
found in the Salar Jung Library Hyderabad. And Abdul Qader
Sarwari has written that it is written by Shah Raju Qattal. But in
the catalog of the Salar Jung Library which compiled by Nasir
Uddin Hashmi in which he has written that it is written by
Sultan Abul Hasan’s spiritual master Shah Raju Qattal Ibn Safi
Allah.
     The author of Sufi Samperdia Dr. Shaikh Ejaz wrote that the
book Suhagan-Nama in the Deccani language is said to write by
his name and which he has written in Khuldabad for his
daughter. He has further written that in the poetry of Deccani
language that he has used words of Birjbhasa language which he
used very nicely. And so Suhagan-Nama seems to be the poetry
of the new modern Hindi language. The poetry book starts with
the following couplet in the Deccani language and its translation
and interpretation are as follows.

 Hear, oh *Suhagan hear it hear again

 Hear all the sayings with much attention

* The woman whose husband is alive

Risala Shah Raju:  This magazine Risala Shah Raju is said to

be written by him and Risala Shah Raju is found in Rouzatain

library Gulbarga and which is attached there with some

magazines of Hazrat Gesu Daraz. In this magazine, there is a
clarification of the Islamic faith. As well as there is an
explanation of the points of Sufism. The author has written this
book in the style of questions and answers. In this magazine,
there is a description of an example, one poem is as follows. 
“ My dear friends in the beginning there was nothing. There
were no sky and earth, emporium or chair, moon, and stars and
there was nothing. The personality of Allah was such in himself
so that he could not observe his attributes. And he was not
taking the news of himself and the unrelated.”
Question: What there was the reason for not having
information?
Answer: To having information which that relates to the
attributes and he will be engaged in his personality. So for this
reason there is no space of the attributes. When there is no space
of the attributes, then there is not possible for having
information on this matter.
Questions: The attributes are old or new.?
Answer: The manifest is in old personality and which is inside
the veil of patronizing and with the wine of passion and in
personalities like perfume and flower.
The journey from Delhi to Doulatabad: When Sultan
Mohammed Bin Tughlaq who made his capital Devagari and
named it Doulatabad. Then at that time, he has given the order to
Delhi’s scholars learned persons and pious persons to migrate
new capital. So in this connection, he has shifted with his family
members on 20th Ramadan 725 Hegira he left from Delhi and
after a journey of four months, he was reached Doultatabad on
Thursday 17th Muharram in the year 725 Hegira. And after
living in Doulatabad for some days then he has moved at the

upper side of the mountain area and now which is well known as
Khuldabad. And at that time Hazrat Syed Yousuf Hussaini when
he arrived in Doulatabad his son Syed Mohammed Hussaini was
with him and his age at the time was four years old. Abdul Haq
in his Urdu book   Urdu ke Ebtadai Nasho Numa Main Sufia
Karam Ka Kam who wrote that Syed Yousuf Hussaini who was
the younger brother of Hazrat Jalaluddin Maqdum Jehanian
Jehan Gast. There were two sons of Shah Raju, Syed Hasan
Chandan, and Syed Mohammed Hussaini Gesu Daraz. And Shah
Raju’s these two sons who have pledged on the hands of Hazrat
Nasiruddin Chiragh Delhi. Doulatabad’s famous holy person
and who was a person of miracles and revelations and his name
was Hazrat Wali Shaikh Babu who has forecasted to Shah Raju
about the future of his two sons and translator of Tariq
Habibi who has written conversation of Shaikh Babu as follows.
  “ Syed Sahib’s your elder son who will be a merchant, but his
habits will be pious and capacity which will be with his
condition. But I am seeing in your younger son that is he is wise.
And he is mystic and he is a lover, he is a pious person and
spiritual master.” Mohammed Abdul Majeed in the
book Rouzatal Auliya well known as Nafqat Asfai in which he
has written about two sons of Shah Raju, Syed Ahmed, and
Syed Ali Hussaini. And he wrote that the first in his younger age
who was died and the second one who was without children. As
it is written that Shah Raju who was the younger brother of Shah
Jalaluddin Maqdum Jehanian Jehan Gast and his brother in law
Syed Ibrahim Mutawfi to whom the Sultan of Delhi appointed
him as Governor of Doulatabad. Rounaq Ali, who wrote
in Rouazat Al-Aqtab that “ He will be given Rupees 400
annually and also land was given to him from Gulbarga.” Syed
Yousuf Hussaini was a good poet of the Persian language and

his poetic name was Raja. And probably for this connection, his
wife is called Rani Buzrug.
  The author of Irmagan Sultani who wrote that with reference to
Hazrat Gesu Daraz that “Shah Raju has much fondness of
hearing of the Sama (ecstasy) in the meetings and in this
connection, he has written the following event which is as
follows.
 “ My father has much fondness of the Sama hearing. There was
one meeting of Sama hearing in Delhi. Some persons who were
dancing thereby putting some medicine on their soles. Upon
hearing Sama and there was prevailed the condition of the
unconsciousness to my father and he could able to control
himself and he was jumping into the fire and began moving in
the restless condition here and there. The people were surprised
that they were jumping in the fire with the help of the medicine
and are being safe and secure but suddenly he is falling in the
fire and so to see him whether he is burnt down by the fire or
not.? They have watched him carefully and found that there was
not found any damage by fire upon him.
  Hazrat Syed Yousuf Hussaini Shah Raju Qattal who has spent
remaining his life period in the company of Hazrat Shaikh
Burhanuddin Gharib.
Year of death: He has left this mortal world on 5th Shawwal in
the year 731 Hegira. Tayyab Mab Tashat is a chronogram date
of his death and he was buried outside the area of his house.
