Brief background

 The topic is about conversion of Enbridge Center to Hyatt Hotel. The project has been designed
and constructed through the teamwork of Pangman, DIALOG and Ledcor[ CITATION Gmb \l
4105 ]. Re-designed as a 25 storey tower, it has an additional 3 storeys in height for a 'sky lumiere' / illuminated tower
crown feature. [ CITATION Gmb \l 4105 ]

 New tower will incorporate the historical facades of the Kelly & Ramsey Blocks on the lower floor levels, partially
destroyed by fire. The redevelopment will also front onto Rice-Howard Way, Edmonton's primary pedestrian walkway
in the main CBD. ([ CITATION Gmb \l 4105 ]
 But major snags along the planning road, including damage to the historic structure from
a fire in 2009 and logistical problems matching the old building’s floors with new hotel
floors, were a game changer.[CITATION Kel17 \l 4105 ]

Purpose

The purpose of the report is to know how the building’s historical design is preserved during
construction and to know if its practical .There are limitations with the report including materials that is
not yet installed or constructed and also the person to be interviewed has a busy schedule and he can
only give us a very limited time of interview.

The objective of the analysis is to discover how the building's historical design is preserved and whether

Budget to Complete Report

From the beginning of doing the report up to now the communications are through internet and we are
using Google Documents, that lessen our expenditures. We already talked to the project manager of
LEDCOR for the interview and planning to give him a souvenir as a gift of appreciation.

From the earliest starting point of doing the report up to now the interchanges are through web and we
are utilizing Google Records, that reduce our consumptions. We previously conversed with the venture
director of LEDCOR for the meeting and intending to give him a keepsake as an endowment of
appreciation.

Project Problems and solutions

We both have jobs and our time doesn’t meet sometimes and the Google Documents is helping us to
work together. The format of report proposal has lots of major corrections and as a solution to it we will
use the WriteOn Nait service .

Conclusions

The team has enough information regarding backgrounds and updates about the building. The project
manager from LEDCOR, Mr. Graham Currie of Enbridge Tower project agreed to have an interview with
us and gave also his email address and personal phone number.

WORKING OUTLINE

Title:

Conversion of Enbridge Tower to Hyatt Hotel

Purpose/Audience:

The report will give the audience the knowledge about the method of building
renovation.this also enlightens them on the effects on the price and design in using the
old building and materials in the preservation of the historical building and its design.

The study will provide detail on the building rehabilitation strategy to the public. This will further
educate them on the cost and design impacts of using the old structure and materials to
preserve the chronicled building and its plan.

Thesis Statement:

If the owner/contractor knows the impact of renovating building to the construction cost and design ,
and the way/technique(di ko alam kung anong word ang fit ) in converting the old building to hotel to
lessen the construction cost, the owner/contractor can decide whether constructing new building is
better than renovating an old one.considering kung gaano pa yung itatagal at itinagal ng old building and
damages.
The owner / contractor may conclude that, if the owner / contractor is aware of the impact of building
renovation on building costs and design and of the methods and technique (di ko alam kung anong
words ang fit) in upgrading an old building into a hotel to curb building costs, whether the construction
of a new building is better than the renovation of an outdated building.

 The team did the research regarding the history and updates about the Enbridge Tower
Centre. There are list of interview questions prepared na patungkol sa cost ng renovation
and advantages and disadvantages ng renovation compared to constructing new one.

are rundown of inquiries addresses arranged na patungkol sa cost ng redesign and points of
interest and inconveniences ng remodel contrasted with building new one.
