SUCCESS STORY

I was appointed as an ADAS III in Balingasag Central School, but due to limited items
for ADAS, I was assigned to some nearby schools. As to my first assignment, I was assigned to
check the MOOE Liquidation of 17 elementary schools and 5 secondary schools. But later on,
there are existing ADAS items hired by the Division. As of now, I am assigned to check the 13
elementary schools of Balingasag North District.

My job as a Cluster Bookkeeper is critical and time pressured due to the deadlines. I
thoroughly check the schools’ liquidation and see to it that their disbursements made shall be in
accordance with the existing budgeting, accounting and auditing rules and regulations. Once
complete, I issue a certification of its correctness and completeness, prepare a Journal Entry
Voucher, Liquidation Listing and Transmittal for submission to COA.

I am lucky enough that the school heads are very cooperative. Fast tracking of
submission of Liquidation to meet the deadline is achieved.

SUCCESS STORY

We are approximately 200 ADAS II & ADAS III in the Division of Misamis Oriental.
To be able to serve it better to the schools, the Budget and Accounting Office through Mr. Mark
Lorren Tejano, our Budget Officer, initiated to create a Team Leader for each district. I was
chosen as a Team Leader of Balingasag North District. My task is to monitor the status of
Liquidations and Cash Advances of schools in the district. Update to members and disseminate
information by conducting District Finance Staff Meeting or through text or FB group. They
consulted me any problem arises related to finance services. We, therefore, agree in one decision
that could be allowable by COA.

So far, they are contented in my Leadership. No negative comments from members. We

are united TEAM BALI.

SUCCESS STORY

To be able to monitor the Cash Advances and Liquidations of schools, I prepared and
submitted the Statement of Bank Reconciliation in a monthly basis. Aside of being part of my
job as a Cluster Bookkeeper, Bank Reconciliation is the essential internal control tool. It helps
identify accounting and bank errors. It is also necessary for the prevention and early detection of
fraud. Needed for the preparation of Bank Reconciliation are the Cash Disbursement Register,
Subsidiary Ledger and the Bank Statement of the schools.

I prepared Statement of Bank Reconciliation of 13 schools per month. As a result, our

Division Accountant made a commendable remark on my monthly submission.

The Division Office has conducted several workshops, trainings and seminars for all
Accounting personnel and all Finance Staff. Attending seminars can help me improve my skills
in Accounting, help me gain knowledge and provide me a learning experience.

I am privilege and lucky enough to be part of DepEd Finance Service Team.
