Analysing results of experiments and interpretation of the

results

Indicators/ Learning Outcomes:

1) The students should be able to analyse data from an

experiment

2) Appropriately describe different methods of data collection and

analysis

Key Concept: Data, analysis, frequency, charts, descriptive

Objectives:
Knowledge (K):

1) The students should be able to know the different types of data

collection methods.

2) The students should be able to put a scattered data in to tables

Process (P):

1) Make conclusion from data

2) Make conclusions from tables

Attribute (Affective):

1. The students will be able to answer questions based on their data.

2. The students should be able to interpret their results and make

suggestions

Learning Activities:

Warm up:

1. For this lesson, the warm up will be asking students to look at a bar

chart and answer questions about it.


2. After that, they will each share their answers

Presentation:

1. After warm up activities, a slide showing various methods of

presenting data will be displayed on the projector screen.

2. Each of the methods will be explained by the teacher, using

examples.

3. The students will the look at the vocabularies on their text book

and the teacher will explain each with appropriate examples.

Practice:

1. The students in their groups assigned by the teacher will be

given a method to interpret and explain to the class.

2. They will answer the respective questions about their

method.

3. They will also do the featured exercises in their text books.

Production:
1. The teacher will check the exercises done by students.

2. The students will also share their ideas about their

respective methods.

Wrap Up: The teacher will again go over the vocabulary. Then

the teacher will collect all the works done by the students and assign

their homework.

1. Whiteboards and markers

3. Student textbooks, color pencils, draft papers, dictionaries,

internet

Comments and Reflections:

Problems:

The students had little or no difficulty on this topic, since it had to

do with number and most of the methods were graphical and

concrete. Some could not easily differentiate between a bar graph

and a histogram.

Solution:

The teacher had to use visual aids for them to understand.

Suggestion:

In the future, there should be a lot of exercises on graphs and

histograms
