WORK EXPERIENCE

1. Worked as an “ENGINEER TRAINEE” for 5 months in a well esteemed organisation

M/S THIRAVIAM ENGINEERING PVT. LTD., Tuticorin.

RESPONSIBILITY:
 Job order, work order and purchase order are prepared for the
Production Department.
 Cutting plans are prepared for the materials in Auto CAD - 2010.
 Material fabrications are followed up from initial to the final stage of
dispatch.
 Finally preparation of dispatch documents for the job along with the
Quality Department.

2. Worked as PIPING ENGINEER in M/s PETROFAC ENGINEERING PVT.LTD., Chennai

under “UPPER ZAKUM 750 ISLANDS” project for period of 1 year.

RESPONSIBILITY:
 Preparation of Manual MTO (P&ID components) with the help of
approved P&IDs, PMS (Piping Material Specification), Construction
standards and instrumentation hook-up drawings.
 Non P&ID components are periodically checked with help of software’s
such as “NAVI’S WORK” and SPR (Smart Plant Reviewer).
 Layout and the DCN changes are manually updated in MTO periodically.
 MTO components (P&ID and non P&ID) are analysed by comparing with
the help of PDMS and SP-3D models.
 Isometric checking are done with the P&ID and ensure the following
criteria
1. ISO checking is performed as per ISO check list.
2. WBS and line break ups are checked as per the revised P&ID.
3. It is necessary to ensure that SP items and instrumentation
components are not be reported in BOM
 3. Currently working as DESIGN ENGINEER in M/s STAFFORD CONTROLS PVT.LTD.,
Chennai

RESPONSIBILITY:
 Preparation of GA drawing (General Assembly) for the butterfly valves as
per standards (ANSI, API, BS )
 Preparation of work order and Bill of Material for the approved drawings

COURSE SUMMARY

1. PIPING
 Conceptual preparation of P&ID from process flow diagram and piping
material specification.
 Preparation of piping layout from the process P&ID and General Assembly
Drawing.
 Drafting of isometrics from the piping layout.
 Calculation of pipe wall thickness by using internal design pressure.
 Basics knowledge in ASME and ASTM standards.

2. PDMS (Plant Design Management System)

 Modelling of equipment with the help of plot plan and Equipment layout.
 Routing of pipe among various equipment’s along with the extraction of
its Isometric drawing.
 Preparation of General Assembly layout, Plot plan, and Piping Isometric
drawings.
 Extraction of Bill of Material or Material Take Off, Valve list, Line list from
the General Assembly drawing.

PROJECT DETAILS

Engineering : Design and fabrication of Compressed Pneumatic Vehicle

Description : Design and fabricate the pneumatic car which can travel at the
speed of 7km/hr. with a Pay load of 0.3tons. Working pressure is 7 Bar.

Mini Project : Design of gear arrangement to produce indexing and rotation at time
Description : Design of gear arrangement which obtain 60 degree forward motion
and 120 degree reverse motion. That is both rotating and indexing
motions at a time.
