2. Describe your home district/country.
Ans. Name of your home district, location, why is it famous for, historical places, famous
person, popular thing that are found over there etc. Give the direction/how can one go
there?
3. What are your educational qualifications?
Ans. From higher order to lower order. For example, from B. Sc. to S.S.C/J.S.C.
4. Do you do any job/Where do you work?
Ans. Name of the company or institution and position.
5. What are your job responsibilities over there?
Ans. Work responsibilities that you basically do in your office.
6. Have you faced working under pressure in your work place? How do you tackle that
situation?
Ans. If yes, answers should be like- by remaining calm, staying focused on work, staying
positive, get help if I need, take my break etc.
7. What are your strength and weakness?
Ans. Your positive sides and your limitations.
8. Who is the iconic person in your life/who is the role model in your life?
Ans. The most favorite person in your life whom you admire, like, and follow.
9. What do you do in your spare time/what are your interests?
Ans. Things that you like to do in your free time like- playing games, watching movies,
singing, reading books, sleeping etc.

Ans. Your future plan. Should start as – My aim in life is/I would like/my career plan is
to be a successful civil engineer in future…
11. What will you do/ how will you contribute for your country as an engineer?
Ans. Some positive intention/ wish that you want to do for your country or society when
you become a successful engineer.

Ans. Ans. The name of this course is “Developing English Language Skills”
16. What did you learn by doing this course/what you learnt from the classes?
Ans. Since this course basically focuses on 4 skills of English language, by doing this
course my language skills have been developed like- I know how to deliver a good
presentation because I overcome my presentation fear, speaking anxiety and public
speaking. I learnt how to face a viva/interview board. Moreover, my reading and writing
skills have been improved a lot…
17. How social media, internet, TV, You tube help you to improve your English
language skills?
Ans. By listening and watching educational videos, movies, news and by practicing
speaking as well as writing…
18. Some topics on current issues- Corona pandemic, climate change, global warming,
deforestation etc.
19. How did you spend your Eid vacation/Puja/lockdown time?
Ans. Things that you did during Eid/Puja vacation or during this current lockdown
situation.
20. What are the prospects of Civil Engineering?
Ans. Civil engineering is a field that has no end. The prospects or popular career for civil
engineer graduates are- civil service, construction managers, geotechnical engineer,
environmental engineer, public health engineer, transport/ urban planning engineer etc.
21. Why did you choose to study in Civil Engineering department?
Ans. Similar to question no 20.
22. Why have you got admission into DIU?/Say something about DIU
Ans. I have got admitted into DIU because DIU is one of the leading, familiar and note-
worthy private universities in Bangladesh. DIU provides us a reasonable cost study,
opportunities, resources, and expertise to achieve academic and career goals within a

27. What is the importance of learning English?
Ans. Importance of learning English cannot be described within one word. It’s a must
because,
 English is a global language
 Studying English can help you get a good job.
 Learning English can help you meet new people
 Many scientific papers are written in English
 English is the language of the internet and media industry
 English is one of the most important languages for business
 With English, one can study all over the world
 Travelling is a lot easier with a good knowledge of English etc.
28. How can we develop our English Language skills?
Ans. We can develop our English skills by reading books or newspaper in English and
articles in web, by speaking practice in English, by listening to and watching movies, tv
shows, news, games, exhibitions etc. in English.
29. What are the criteria/ thing that you should keep in mind while giving a good
presentation/viva/interview?
Ans. Good concept on topic, language, grammar, pronunciation, body language, eye-
contact, posture, gesture, smile and most importantly self-confidence.
30. What are the course contents/classroom activities/what did your course teacher
discussed about?
Ans. The course contents covered the 4 core skills of English language- listening,
speaking, reading, and writing. Some significant class activities were face to face
interview, extempore speech, presentation, debate session, vocabulary learning by word
web, group discussion, meet the press, free hand writing, movie review etc.
