Nabila Maqsood is a prominent figure in the beauty industry of
Pakistan. Founder of Nabila Salon, she opened her first salon in 1986. From there on she established multiple style outlets and hair salons in Pakistan’s major cities. Nabila Maqsood, opened her first salon in May 1986 in Karachi and through “sheer” hard work she is the gigantic name we all know today. Nabila is considered an integral part of the fashion industry of Pakistan. She has been associated with the fashion world for the past 20 years or so. However she does not let that get in the way of her business, she has expanded her salon all over Pakistan and has recently opened a men’s saloon “N-Gents” as well as a Nail Salon
Nabila has worked closely with some famous Pakistani
celebrities such as Wasim Akram, Ali Zafar and many more.
Also working with huge brands such as L’Oreal, working as a
creative consultant. Early in 2018, she announced that her brands Nabila salon, N- Gents and ZERO will be the official hair and make-up partners at the IIFA awards 2018. Beating out global makeup brand Mac Cosmetics for the IIFA 2018 contract, Nabila made history in the beauty industry. Mac had been IIFA’s makeup partner for 16 years. This was Nabila and her brands became the first from Pakistan to have worked on the illustrious Bollywood event. Nabila told Arab News:

She started off with one nail salon and now is rivaling global makeup moguls such as Mac. Sehr’s startup has proved to be quite beneficial for several women in Pakistan, especially young brides-to-be. It has helped make it easier for women to decide which makeup or salon option they want to choose or which one would be better suited for the look they want to get. Rameeza Moin is the founder and CEO of Transparent
Hands, and is one of the most inspiring women entrepreneurs of Pakistan. She is an educationalist and has dedicated a major part of her life to this profession. There are millions of underprivileged people in Pakistan, who are unable to provide for their family’s fundamental needs. This is where Rameeza received the idea for her startup and decided to focus her efforts into helping those who were unable to help themselves. Together with her brothers, she came up with the idea to generate money through crowdfunding, to provide financial help for patients who were unable to pay for the expensive hospital treatments on their own. However, her idea initially faced a lot of rejection, until she came across Plan9 incubator, which aided her mission to build her company, Transparent Hands, which has helped facilitate a lot of patients in Pakistan.

Maria Umar is the founder of Women’s Digital League
providing work opportunities and digital training to Pakistani women. Through Project Artemis/Goldman she was mentored by some of the best business professors and motivational speakers who belonged to the Silicon Valley. Umar was later nominated as a Thought Leader by Ashoka Changemakers. Throughout her tenure at the online digital outsourcing sphere she was able to take her company to new heights by winning the Early Stage Award in the Changemakers “Women Powering Work” competition. Umar has been featured as an innovative leader by both the local and international media including names like Forbes and Dawn.
Maria Umar is the president and founder of an IT solution company by
the name of Women’s Digital League (WDL). Umar quit her job as a full-time teacher, rejecting her maternity leave before founding the WDL. WDL helps women to become more economically empowered.
It is an online platform to help educated woman aged 18-27 from the
comfort of their homes.
This digital platform provides support and employment for Pakistani
women.
Umar had received training from top businesspeople in Silicon
Valley and she applied these teachings in her company. Maria herself is an innovative member of the technology industry. She combines social action with tech to aid women in Pakistan.
