Lopez Perspective in Pharmacy

BSPh1-A Final Project

How did you learn about Pharmacy?

 I’ve got to know Pharmacy in my uncle. My uncle is a Chief Pharmacist in Hospital working out of
the country, whenever he got back here in the Philippines for vacation my uncle always have a
bunch of medicine in his pasalubong package. The medicines he have, gives it to her mother and
to my tita’s and tito’s as well me for my vitamins when i was a little kid.

Why did you chose Pharmacy?

 As I grow older, i realized why people need medicines. That is to be able to pro-long life and it
really helps. At first I found it hard and not easy course to take, but I chose it for a reason the
reason are I can help people, I can give information about taking medicines, because I like
helping people and I care about their health specially in my family.

What were your expectations before studying Pharmacy?

 I can say that my expectations becomes my reality, before studying pharmacy I already know
that Pharmacy is not an easy course to take. There is a lot of memorizations, analyzations,
computations you have to encounter and it is very stressful. Besides of that one of my
expectations studying Pharmacy are also fun. Because you will learned a lot of information in
medication and other terms.

What was the hardest part (as of now) of being a Pharmacy student?

 Well, as Pharmacy student I’ve been struggling a lot as of now in my own time management.
One are my study hours, I am a sleepy head person so sometimes I can’t do study in my study
hours. I’ve been through a lot of adjustment still until now because of my schedules and
subjects.

What can you say about your future profession?

 Use your profession well, and remember your purpose why you become a Pharmacist and do
your responsibility being a one of the health profession. Sometimes other people had a
profession still can’t use it right otherwise, they hide it. Profession is one of patient reasons for
them to trust medicines.

Can you summarize your whole experience this 1st sem as a Pharmacy student?

 If I had to summarize it, I can say my whole experience was like i’m in a roller coaster.
Sometimes I’ve been in a down part struggling, and sometimes i am at the top. Because that are
roller coaster path way right? Ups and downs. The thing about roller coaster is even if you’ve
been through ups and downs you still felt happy and enjoyment. The same way I feel in my
experience as Pharmacy Student 1st sem.
How do you view now the profession after semester of studying it?
 I can see the profession was not easy to accommodate, but it is fun because you had a lot to
learn and can apply to myself even if I am still working on my profession. It is a part of having a
profession you must strive hard, study, read with passion on it.

What will be your advice to your future juniors and aspiring pharmacists?

 If you have a plan taking Pharmacy just make sure if this is you really want to take, why? if you
are doing something you don’t really like, it can be so hard for you.
For those who willingly to take Pharmacy there are three things advices I want to share with
you. First, always remember your reason why you are taking Pharmacy if you had too many
good reasons just grab it and don’t let go just stick to that. Second, read and study as much as
you can it is for your profession. Third, know your priorities pass your projects, assignments in
specific deadlines.
For aspiring Pharmacists, do what the real Pharmacists do.
