The text above is called a memo. A memo or memorandum is a type of communication commonly
used in business. It is used as a written reminder or to convey a short proposal or some basic
information.

Memos are sent to colleagues co-workers. They differ from letters as they are more informal and do
not require a salutation or a closure statement as in business letters.

Here are the parts of memo:

MEMO Always state that the document is a memorandum. [header]

TO Use the person’s name. Courtesy titles are not used.
FROM Use your name. Use your title and position only if weight of your position is necessary
DATE Month [spelled out], Day, Year
SUBJEC A brief statement of the subject matter

BODY A brief massage about a single topic. The body of a memo normally has three parts,
written using a deductive approach: (1) why memo is being written, (2) information
conveyed and (3) suggested future action

Gayus verdict disappointing: Graft watchdog

"Good evening , I'm Detria Tisna Putri and this is the headline news"

Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) has lashed out at the light sentence the South Jakarta
District Court handed down to former taxman Gayus Tambunan, saying it would hurt the
public's sense of justice.

“People will be disappointed since it is by no means a heavy sentence,” ICW analyst

Firdaus Ilyas told The Jakarta Post. Gayus was sentenced to seven years in prison and
ordered to pay Rp 300 million in damages.

However, Firdaus attributed the light sentence to loopholes in the legal proceedings.

“The inquiry process, evidence and legal proceedings apparently have many loopholes so
that the result won't satisfy the people,” he said.

According to Firdaus, Gayus’ case is merely a small indication of the extent of the tax
mafia’s reach in the country.

“It will not be shock therapy for the mafia. And since the mafia in the tax office and court
remain untouched, similar crimes will continue in the future,” he said.
