I have the honor to submit my thesis proposal entitled, “PRO-HEALTH: A Rehabilitation

Center for Musculoskeletal Conditions and Orthopedic Care” as a partial requirement for the
degree of Bachelor of Science in Architecture. In the province of Cavite, with the rise of inpatient
demand comes with the lack of hospital rooms to accommodate acute patients. The thesis project
will propose an Inpatient Rehabilitation Center specializing on Orthopedic Care. This facility will
be in response to; the increasing disability rate of Dasmarinas, Cavite; the shortage of hospital beds
in public hospitals in treating acute conditions; and lack of specialized care in the province. The
project also aims to integrate architectural concepts and theories on improving the effectiveness of
healing within the facility.
The following are its project objectives:
1. To establish a paradigm in Inpatient rehabilitation center as a cost-effective alternative
to sub-acute treatment.
2. To create a Rehabilitation Center that will offer accessible services for the locals as well
as its surrounding cities/towns
3. To improve services on restoring the physical and social function of the disabled.
4. To improve the integration of the Community-Based Rehabilitation in the Province of
Cavite.
5. To improve the advancements of Physical Rehabilitation within the country.

Upon the approval of this proposal, it is understood that I shall proceed with the research work
and submit it on the designated date. Justification and other requirements for the proposal are
included herewith.

Very truly yours,

John Gabriel R. Samson
