Purpose of the
The purpose of this quantitative, correlational study is to examine perceptions of the High
School coach-athlete relationship. The study will investigate the student-athletes' perceptions of
the quality of the currently existing coach-athlete relationships and also the ratings of the
schools, and how can we be able to see the rating of the relationship by examining student-
athletes. Another aim of the study was also to determine if student-athlete perceptions of the
existing quality of coach-athlete relationships have a predictive relationship with their own
ratings of athlete satisfaction. This quantitative study will help in determining the relationship
between the leadership of a coach and the athletes’’ grit (goal setting, persistence, passion, time
Specifically, the study will be going after determining whether the behaviors informed by
democratic behavior, training and instruction, social support, autocratic behavior, and the
positive feedback of the coached impacted the student-athletes. The use of questionnaires will be
the best method where student-athletes can give their responses and feelings about their current
coach-athlete relationship. The study results are expected to offer an educational leadership team
with proven data about perceptions of High School coach-athlete relationship a proper
correlational design to foster grit, which is good for improving the coach-athlete relationship.
The main variable which was measured was student satisfaction and student grades. Student

satisfaction and student grades were used because they are highly impacted by abusive coach-
athlete relationships. Predictors of the commitment of the coaches are the main thing that should
be determined because they help in attaining high levels of performance. The present study was
developed so as to validate and develop a self-reported instrument that measures the nature of the
coach-athlete relationship.

The relationship between coaches and athletes has been criticized for years, and it is the
time to find ways to solve the problem, the questions below help in this problem. The research
