• To start a family = to settle down: To have the first baby - Có đứa con đầu lòng
E.g: We’re not ready to start a family yet.
• To have children: To be or become a parent = to embark on parenthood - Có con
E.g: Each family in Vietnam is not allowed to have more than two children.
• To expect a baby: To be pregnant - Mang thai
E.g: Jane is expecting a baby.
• To provide for family/ To raise one’s family: Earn enough money to support
family - Nuôi gia đình
E.g: He works very long hours to provide for his family.
E.g: We’re living with my mom now, but we’ll set up home on our own soon.
• To bring up/raise/ To nurture: Take care of children - Chăm sóc nuôi nấng con
cái
E.g: Both mom and dad are taking responsibilities for bringing up their children.
• To divorce: To end relationship between husband and wife - Ly hôn
E.g: More and more couples decide to divorce for many reasons.
• To drift apart from: To become less close to someone - Trở nên xa cách với ai

E.g: They decided to tie the knot after three years of romantic relationship.
