1. why need to use a well-trained or experienced staff in staging the event?

Well-trained or experienced staff need to be used in staging the event to erect and install the staging
equipment such as stage, scaffolding construction, tents, flooring system, wiring and others.

2. Give 4 functions of lighting in an event.

The primary function of stage lighting is visibility. Lighting is used to make sure the audience can see the
parts of the stage that the director or the lighting designer want them to see.

The second function is to illuminate or highlight the focal point. Lighting is "forcing" the audience to
look where it is desired for them to look through the use of high/low intensity and changes in intensity.

The third function of lighting is adding color in the event. The use of colors is the easiest way to maintain
or create the “mood” of the event.

The modeling function includes creating a realistic or intentionally non-realistic view of the world of the
play through different dimension. This is done by strategically placing lights above, below, to the side, in
front and behind the actors. Through the use of the placement of the lights, you can create different
types of highlights and shadows on the actors, props and set pieces.

3. What are the elements that you need to be considered in developing event staging?

There are several elements that we need to be considered in developing event staging including the
theme of the event, the use of five sense, its décor, background, colors, event’s focal point, fabrics and
furnishing used, the way of lighting used and also signage and signal. All the elements play important
roles to bring the event memorable one to the audiences or attendees.
