GENERAL CONDITIONS OF HIRE

1. Our prices include

 Unlimited mileage.(except on our Vans- groups L1-L2-L3-M1-M2, where we

include 400kms per day, any additional kilometre is charged at 0,20€)
 Applicable local taxes (VAT or IGIC in the Canaries)
 Compulsory insurance with no excess (except in Ibiza and in particular
groups)
 Replacement car in case of accident.
 No charge for cancellations or changes.
 Airport service.
 Option of paying on arrival.
 Roadside assistance.
 Road maps.

2. Our prices do not include

 Petrol.
 Optional insurance.

3. Insurance conditions

Our prices include compulsory insurance and in addition entail no type of excess -
except in Ibiza, where the prices are:

4. What is covered by SCDW (optional insurance) but not by compulsory

insurance

For those eventualities not included in the booking package, we offer you SCDW
insurance, which for a minimum cost allows you to travel with the certain
guarantee of no unforeseen costs, covering you for:

 Punctures or any damage to the tyres or rims.

 Damage to the locks.
 Damage to the underside of the car.
 Misuse of the clutch.
 Damage to the windows or windscreen during the hire period.
 Theft as a result of forced entry.

If you decide not to take the additional SCDW insurance, then we will hold the
amount of 400 euros-600 euros on your credit card as a guarantee to cover any
possible damages made to the vehicle and not covered under the compulsory
insurance.

If you decide not to take the additional SCDW insurance, then we will charge the
excess amount on your credit card to cover any possible damages made to the
vehicle and not covered under the compulsory insurance. (See point 3)

5. What is not covered by any insurance

 Damage to a third party or to the hire vehicle due to negligence or

inappropriate driving.
 Loss of child seats.
 Loss or damage to aerials, jack, safety triangles and vests, windscreen
wipers, petrol cap, luggage covers or any other fixed or mobile component
of the vehicle.
 Damage to the engine through negligence.
 Theft of the vehicle with keys left in the ignition.
 Damage caused to the vehicle or to persons through driving under the
influence of alcohol or drugs.
 Speeding and parking fines incurred during the hire period are the
responsibility of the driver of the vehicle. In the event of a fine being
received the amount of 30€ administration fee will be incurred.
 Refuelling with the wrong type of petrol.
 Loss of keys.

6. Cancelling or changing your booking

You can cancel or alter your booking as many times as is necessary, without
incurring cancellation charges or any additional cost.

Our web-site has a bookings manager function, allowing you to quickly change or
cancel your own booking, without having to call or be left waiting.

7. Guaranteed vehicle group

When you book with Centauro Rent a Car, we guarantee the vehicle group
requested not the brand or model shown. If the vehicle group requested is not
available, Centauro Rent a Car will provide you with a vehicle belonging to a
higher category group for the same price.

8. “Out of hours” service

To pick up your hire vehicle outside our office hours (that is from 00.01 to 07.00),
you will need to pay an additional 30 euros. (Only at Alicante & Murcia airports
and a valid flight number must be provided)

9. Free airport service

Our service when you come to pick up your vehicle at the Centauro counter in the
airport terminal is offered free of charge, and we waive all airport fees.

10. EXPRESS CHECK IN

Once at the office desk you can avoid possible queues by going directly to the
express check-in.

11. Child seats

Child seats as well as boosters are manufactured according to European safety

standards and are available on request for a daily charge of 4 euros, up to a
maximum of 48 euros per item. Please make sure which kind of seat you require:

 Baby seat (BS): 0 – 13 months

 Child seat (BP): 13 months – 3 years
 Booster (BG): 3 - 7 years

12. Additional drivers

Each additional driver will be 4€ per day, minimum 12€ up to a maximum charge
of 40€. GOLD CLUB members include 1st additional driver, charge will apply as of
the 2nd additional driver.

13. Roadside assistance

Our prices also include roadside assistance 24/7. Any towing costs incurred are
not included, though we do provide, at no additional cost, a replacement car if
necessary.

14. Conditions relating to petrol

 Centauro Rent a Car always endeavours to hand over the vehicle with the
tank full and it should be returned with the tank empty, as there are no
refunds.
 Only with hires of 3 days or under is the difference refunded. If the car is
returned with less petrol than it had at the start, there will be a refuelling
charge, and the difference minus this amount will be refunded.
 Customers are always asked to pay the fuel costs at the beginning of the
hire period.
 The cost of fuel varies depending on the model of vehicle, and that can be
from 60 to 140 euros per tank.

15. Driving licence requirements

All drivers must have been in possession of a full EU-valid driving licence for a
minimum of 1 year. The minimum age of the driver is 21 and the maximum 79
years.

Only the following are considered to be valid driving licences in Spain:

 Those issued in accordance with current Spanish legislation

 Those issued by member states of the European Union in accordance with
community regulations
 Those issued by other countries or those of an international nature that are
effectively recognised as valid permissions to drive in Spain.

Young drivers between the ages of 21 years to 24 years: 3€ per day, minimum 9€
maximum 42€.

16. Payment

Payment is at the point of arrival, on collection of your vehicle, or through our

secure web page, with Visa or MasterCard.
The holder of the credit card must present it together with their voucher when
they come to pick up the vehicle. Please note that we do not accept payment by
debit card or in cash.

Please be assured that our payment platform is totally secure thanks to the
“VeriSign” system (you can check our certificate online).

17. Restrictions

 Vehicles collected at any of our locations cannot be taken on any ferry

between the Balearic Islands, Ceuta, Melilla and/or the mainland.
 From our Mainland offices only, vehicles can be taken outside of Spain to
Andorra/France/Portugal only. CHARGE APPLIES.
 Our tariffs include unlimited mileage except in groups L1, L2, L3, M1 and
M2, which have a permitted mileage of 400 km per day.
 For Ibiza: There is a 3000 km limit per month, If the limit is exceeded,
0,50€ per kilometer will be charged for each additional kilometer.

18. Inter-branch hiring

You may return the vehicle to any of Centauro own offices, provided that you
advise us of this on making your booking. If the system blocks a booking between
different destinations, that means bookings are not permitted between the
branches requested.
Prices vary depending on which branch is used for picking up and which for
dropping off. The service costs 45 euros for branches within the same region and
100 euros for branches in different regions. 200€ for Barcelona.
It is not available in groups F1, G1, G2, G3 and H e I.

19. Documentation required on collection of the vehicle

Please remember that on picking up the vehicle you must have with you: your
passport or identity card, your driving licence, credit card and Centauro booking
number.

20. Data protection

Our web-site has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse or
alteration of the information we have under our control. Centauro Rent a Car does
not sell or rent out any confidential information to third parties.

21. Prices and taxes

The prices shown on this page are valid subject to error or omission. They are
subject to change without notice.

Prices include VAT and IGIC (General Indirect Tax of the Canary Islands)

22. Discount coupon:

- Offer valid for the period specified in each promotion.

- Discount applicable only for the rental amount.
- Subject to availability of vehicles.
- Cannot be combined with other discounts.
- Applicable for the following destinations: Alicante, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca,
Ibiza, Valencia, Murcia, Barcelona, Benidorm, Denia and Torrevieja.
