Greet everyone first….

In behalf of the SLSU- College of Teacher Education who is the host college for 2019
National and Science and Technology Week, I am deeply honored and glad to welcome
you all to the 2019 National Science and Technology Week Celebration.

In keeping with the general theme “Science for the People: Enabling Technologies for
Sustainable Development,” this year’s NSTW—together with the Regional Science and
Technology Week (RSTW) celebrations—seeks to draw attention to scientific knowledge
and technological applications impacting on the lives of Filipinos through the kind of
development that can bring about positive, meaningful, and sustainable change.

Please be reminded that NSTW allows the scientists and experts from the field to
discuss issues and new technologies trending in the field. Also, the celebration is aimed
at giving an opportunity for a younger generation to display their activities, efforts, and
achievements in the field of science for human welfare.

So, for this three-day celebration, you will have the chance to witness and observe
exhibits from the different colleges that feature recent output of researches including
promotion of products that could be a good subject for entrepreneur. Service of the
University is further extended to the teaching of a good source of livelihood through
demonstration program for candle making, beads making, and soap making. Likewise,
seminars on food sanitation and safety, alternative medicines, and DRR and resilience
await our participation.

For the students, we have contest on best research papers, quiz bee, and
technolympics. More so, we enthusiastically extended explaining importance of
innovation in classroom management through a one-day seminar for teachers that
positive discipline suitable to the millennials and generation x and z.

With the success of the preparation and the start of the celebration, let me extend my
gratitude to all those in one way or another helped NSTW possible.

Once again, I welcome everyone to the 2019 National Science and Technology Week.
Have a fruitful and enjoyable science exploration!
