Chapter IV

PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

This chapter deals with the presentation, analysis and interpretation of the data gathered

and result of the study conducted among the employees of Amai Pakpak Medical Center. For

clearer understanding of the interpretation of data, each computation is presented and the

respondents were classified to position, age, civil status, educational attainment and length of

service.

Part I. DEMOGRAPHIC PROFILE

Table 4.1.1 shows that most of the respondents are nurses with a percentage of

74.7% i.e. 109 out of 150 respondents. Additionally, 19.9% of the respondents have a position of

middle management. The Missing system is the number of respondents who didn’t give any

information regarding to their position.

Table 4.1.2 shows that most of the respondents are 26 – 35 years old with a percentage of

38.3% i.e. 57 out of 150 respondents. 28.7% of the respondents are 34 – 40 years old. There are

22.7% of the respondents who are 18 – 25 years old. The Missing system is the number of

respondents who didn’t give any information regarding to their age.

Table 4.1.3 shows that most of the respondents are single with a percentage of 51.3% i.e.

77 out of 150 respondents. There are 40.7% of the respondents who are married. 6.7% of the

respondents are divorced. The Missing system is the number of respondents who didn’t give any

information regarding to their civil status.

Table 4.1.4 shows that most of the respondents have a master’s degree with a percentage

of 57.3% i.e. 86 out of 150 respondents. There are 39.3% of the respondents who finished their

Bachelor’s degree as their highest educational attainment. 2.7% of the respondents finished their

doctorate’s degree. The Missing system is the number of respondents who didn’t give any

information regarding to their civil status.

Table 4.1.5 shows that most of the respondents are in the service for 6 – 10 years with a

percentage of 48.7%. 38.7% of the respondents are in the service for 2 – 5 years. There are 9.3%

of the respondents who are in the service for 11 – 15 years. The Missing system is the number of

respondents who didn’t give any information regarding to their time in the service.

As shown in table 4.2.1, the Average Weighted Mean “3.27” has a remark “Always”.

This means that the employees of Amai Pakpak Medical Center always collaborate with each

other to solve their conflicts. Also, they always discuss the needs and problems of their fellow

workers and patients, and look for possible solutions.

implies that there are times where competitions where formed between the employees. They

often compete to find the best solution to their problems is or how good is their service without

considering any personal interest.

As shown in table 4.2.4, the Average Weighted Mean “3.38” has a remark “Always”. The

respondents always provide their patients with great and comfortable service. Item #2 has a

remark “Always” and rank “1st” while item #1 has a remark “Often” and rank “3rd”. This means

that the employees of Amai Pakpak Medical Center prioritize their friends and family before

others. This clearly shows that there is an unequal medical attention or service to the patients.

This means that the employees of Amai Pakpak Medical Center immediately resolve any

grievances/conflicts from their fellow worker or patient. They will use any possible means to

solve any grievances/conflicts, so not to further enlarge the conflicts/grievances.

As shown in table 4.3.4, the Average Weighted Mean “2.94” has a remark “Always”.

Item #1 has a weighted mean “3.29” and remark “Always”. This means that the respondents

have a good time management. They prioritize the most important thing before the other. They

also often use their free time to meet the deadlines but sometimes they separated the time for

work and time for themselves/family.

This implies that all employees in Amai Pakpak Medical Center can perform their different roles.

They are more than enough capable on their jobs.

The Pearson Correlation on table 4.4.1 has a value 0.507 with respect to the Conflict

management style. The value of Pearson Correlation is also 0.507 with respect to the Job

performance. This implies that Conflict management has an average positive correlation to Job

performance. Thus, this can be interpreted as if the respondents improved in their conflict

management style, then their performance on their roles will also improve. Additionally, if the

respondents know how to handle situations regarding conflict management then their job

performance is excellent. The Significant (2-tailed) test is valued 0.0000 at 0.01. This means that

there is a significant relationship between the conflict management style and the job performance

of the employees in Amai Pakpak Medical Center.
