Connect/MOSAIQ

The current information regarding the affected systems can be found on the Med CS Intra-
net / Update Handling Database. The list of affected sites is included in the modification
release letter.

Reason for the Update 0

This update is intended to provide a SW update for the syngo RT Therapist / syngo RT
Therapist Connect/MOSAIQ products, which are running SW version 4.2.108. This SW
update contains fixes for the safety-related issues which are described in the customer
safety advisory notices distributed as TH009/12/S (position verification beams in an abso-
lute setup) and TH018/12/S (immediate resumption of an interrupted beam). The solution
of TH009/12/S consists of a preventive warning message and an Addendum to the User
Manual that also addresses several document improvements.

Prerequisites 0

TH024/11/S has to be performed to update the installed base of syngo RT Therapist

(08162815) / syngo RT Therapist Connect/MOSAIQ (08168754) from SW status
4.2.94P04 to 4.2.108.

The CSE should be familiar with the ARTISTE linear accelerator along with the CC node
within the control console cabinet, as well as the RT Therapist Connect.
Verify the following:

-> Product Information) or contact your local Siemens office if you do not have access to
the Siemens intranet or extranet.
• Standard CSE tool kit
• Service laptop computer
• syngo RT Therapist VB 10 (available on the CS Intranet TH11-400.815.xx.xx.xx)
• Blank DVD-R discs, 4.7 GB, as needed
• External USB hard disk

NOTE If using USB drive:

External USB drives without their own power supply should
be from Fujitsu or HP.

The following update kits must be ordered from CSML (SAP Distribution Channel, plant
2050/6050) or BU Logistics (factory BU) (only with an order via BU Logistics).
Please note that different order numbers apply for the different languages in which the kits
are available: English, German, Japanese, Polish, and Swedish, as well as an "interna-
tional language" kit.

There are no parts to return. Except for dead on arrival, return parts will be handled in
accordance with the ARTD "Principles of Return Goods Management" using the parts
return form.
Please return them using the material number of the update kit.
Returns must be packaged correctly.
No credit will be issued for returns that have been damaged as a result of incorrect han-
dling.

NOTE Read these instructions in their entirety before starting the

update.

1. Version check for RT Therapist 0

1. Log in to syngo as user \administrator\.

2. From the syngo pull-down menu, select Help>About.
3. The dialog window should show the version number 4.2.108.
- If it does not, then first update the system to 4.2.108 (see UI TH024/11/S).

1.1 Disable Autologin

1. Log in to Local Service via the syngo main menu Options>Service>Local Service.
2. Select Configuration>Users and uncheck Enable Autologin.

3. Click Save, Finish, and Home.

4. From the syngo main menu, select Options>End Session>Restart System.

5. Confirm the message with Yes to reboot the system.

NOTE Before rebooting, insert the COBR CD, pn 10652245, in the

DVD drive.

2. Back up RT Therapist 0

• Before starting, perform a full image backup of the system partition.

NOTE Connect the external USB drive after the reboot from the
COBR CD has completed.

1. Create a full image backup.

- Insert COBR VB20A CD (pn 10652245) in the DVD drive and reboot if this has not
already been done.
- Wait until the CD is ejected.
- Insert a blank DVD or connect an external USB hard disk.
- In the COBR Disk Backup screen dialog, select:
a) Select action: Backup

b) For SOURCE, select Internal Disk -> select DISK0 [MED_SYSTEM] -> (C:).

NOTE In rare cases, DISK0 will be the [MED_SYSTEM] partition [D:].

c) For DESTINATION, select CD/DVD writer -> and CD/DVD device or USB hard
disk.
d) Click OK.
e) If necessary, insert another blank DVD.
f) Reboot system after backup is complete.

3. Update processing for Therapist 0

NOTE To perform the update, it is absolutely necessary to uncheck

the Autologin (Chapter 1.1) and log in to Windows as admin-
istrator.

1. Log in to Windows as user /administrator/.

2. Open Windows Explorer (click the Windows button and the E icon).
3. Insert the syngo RT Therapist 4.2.110 VA00A CD
(P/N 10830350) into the DVD drive.
4. Double click the Readme.htm file.

5. Click the hyperlink Click here to install to start the install process.
- If an Internet Explorer message appears first, click Yes.

6. In the File Download window, click Run.

NOTE The system will appear to freeze up. The autoscript contin-
ues installing in the background.
The upgrade takes about 20 to 30 minutes.

NOTE During installation, the mouse and keyboard will be locked.

Do not restart the computer during this time.

NOTE If an incorrect SW version is detected, or you are not logged

in to Windows as \administrator\, then an error message will
appear.

NOTE Do not close the command box.

7. After the installation successfully completes, click OK.

8. After the patch installation is complete, click the upper "here" in the Readme.htm win-
dow to open the install log file for further information.
- Scroll down to the end of the log file and verify 4.2.110 Patch installation script fin-
ished.

9. Also check the log file “COH_94P04_to_110Upgrade.txt” for error and warning mes-
sages. This file can be found in:
C:\Coherence\log
- The error message below can be ignored.

10. Close all windows and double-click the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop.
11. Log in to the Service UI with the valid service key 7.
- Key 7 will be found on the local license CD. Otherwise, contact the licensing center to
get a valid service key:

a) Right click the license.dat file.

b) Open the file with Notepad.

c) Click OK.
d) Scroll down the license.dat file to where the “Service LEVEL 7” entry is located.

e) Fill in the entries for Service key, Password, and Serial No. in the Service UI login
window if necessary.

NOTE Normally, “Service key” and “Serial No” are preset.

f) Mark the check box Set as Default and click OK if necessary.

12. In the Service Software home menu, select Configuration.
13. Click OK on the message:
An error occurs on System Type assigning. Please set System Type again.
14. Verify that the System Type is set to Therapist Workspace.

15. Click Next and confirm the upcoming System Type message with OK.
16. Reboot the RTT

3.1 Enable Autologin for Therapist

1. Under System Options, select Users and enable Autologin.

2. Click Save, Finish, and Home.
3. Reboot the system.

3.2 Version Check

NOTE Be sure RT Therapist is updated before starting clinical use.

Perform a version check as described in Chapter 1.

1. Log in to syngo as user \meduser\.

2. From the syngo pull-down menu, select Help>About.

4. Click OK.

4. Final steps 0

1. Update the revision level, the user documents (if applicable), and the technical docu-
mentation.
2. Fill out and make a copy of the attached Completion Protocol and file it in the corre-
sponding binder.
3. The update has to be reported by authorized employees, either via:
- automated data transfer (only in countries connected to SAP P42 via an Update Han-
dling Interface)
- The “ Update Handling “ on the Siemens Healthcare Intranet/Extranet -> Customer
Services application (for countries NOT connected to SAP P42 via the Update Han-
dling Interface)
- the Completion Protocol (for countries that do not have one of the connections indi-
cated above)
4. This update includes IVKs. Changes in the IVK structure must be reported to the man-
agement system group to update the installed volume.

NOTE The update is not considered to have been performed until

the IVK structure in the Installed Volume is updated.

5. This update resolves the problem described in the letters attached to TH009/12/S and
TH018/12/S. The letters are now invalid, so the following steps need to be performed:
- Open the Digital Linear Accelerator System Owner Manual, chapter “Safety Advisory
Letters” and find the letters related to the UIs TH009/12/S and TH018/12/S

Subject: Customer Safety Advisory

- TH009/12/S Safety advisory notice for RTT 4.2 - new offset & override concept
- TH018/12/S SAL rollout for Artiste or Oncor with 7 UF Multiple-X
- Cross out the pages and add the following text, handwritten in your local language, on
the first page of the letter:

"INVALID, problem is fixed with UI TH004/13/S," and then sign this text.

Please observe following hint before performing the UI:

 The parameters shown in the example screen shots below of System

Options>RTT>Default Parameters will set to default after the patch is installed.
Please check and record the settings of all 4 Tabs (Setup Beam Parameters, Portal
Imaging Configuration, Table Movement Configuration and Options) before installing
the patch. After the patch got installed, check the parameters again and correct the
settings that differ from the recorded settings.
