Background

The eye health services in Nepal consist primarily of the three major eye care professionals:
ophthalmologists, optometrists and ophthalmic assistants. The other supporting human resources are
ophthalmic nurses, orthoptics, optical dispensers and eye health workers.

Sports has always been a supporting pillar and a booster for the overall development of an
individual. Futsal is a variant of association football played on a hard court, smaller than a football pitch
which is now a popular gaming sport. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of
whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted. Unlike some other forms of indoor
football, the game is played on a hard court surface delimited by lines; walls or boards are not used.
Futsal is also played with a smaller, harder, low-bounce ball. The surface, ball and rules together favor
ball control and passing in small spaces. The game's "emphasis is on improvisation, creativity and
technique". Thus, this has been popular and is also an applicable aspect of sports vision in eye care. With
this background, Eye Health Nepal has initiated the pioneer event for all eye care professionals
welcoming from all the parts of Nepal.

Thus, we have come forward with the theme ‘Unite to play, Play to Unite’ which shall play a
pivotal role in strengthening a teamwork and maintaining a mutual relationship among the staffs within
the organization and among the organizations.

The Eye Health Futsal Cup – 2020 is aimed to be organized annually on last Saturday of each
Chitra month so that we all can exchange the words and thoughts welcoming New Year – 2077. We
expect your organization’s due support in needful formats through participation and /or sponsorship. Let
