Past Perfect tense:-
1-) I wish,we wish,he wishes,she wishes,as if, as though etc+ imaginary facts.

EG-
I wish I had been born in London.
He lambasts the architecture as if he had built the Taj Mahal.
2-)To express the imaginary facts of past-
If+past perfect tense+(,)+Sub+would /could/might +have +v3+object.
EG-
If you had helped me that day, I would have escaped the accident.
(Or)
Had+sub+v3+(,)+Sub+would /could/might +have +v3+object.
EG-
Had you been in my place, you would have realised the real meaning of the work.
3-)Past perfect is used with-before, much earlier and already etc
EG-
Nav had already eaten the burger.
Mann had reached his home much earlier.
4-)When something was expected to happen in the past but not completed,to
express such condition usually verbs like-hope,expect,think,mean,intend,suppose
and want etc are used+past perfect tense.
EG-
I had hoped that Shubh would come to surprise me.
My father wanted to buy a new pair of spectacles but unfortunately he died.
