Summary Comment
(context of observation and discussion, year levels, learning areas - if applicable, teaching strengths, areas for development)

I observed Tia teaching a “Year 7 reading and literacy lesson ” & it was plainly obvious
the lesson was extremely well -planned , that it was part of a learning sequence that she
had established & that Tia was keen for all learners to be involved , focussed and
successful. Tia adopted a friendly and engaging manner to connect with all the students
and when needed had a directive tone to ensure all were on task , followed class rules
and maintained focus. Movement around the classroom was a positive way of connecting
with all students either on a 1:1 basis or as a whole class group , it also enabled for
positive and proactive feedback to be delivered to the class. The lesson observed
displayed a sound content knowledge based on AC appropriate for year level & was
supported by the use of ICT e.g. IWB & prepared support scaffolding of lesson content
,schedule and ideas .There was a clear articulation of challenging and differentiated
learning goals being communicated to all students using a broad range of inclusive
strategies . The key to Tia’s success was the professional manner in which she interacted
with all students at all times displaying a warmth & caring attitude to ensuring they were
being successful in their learning . Overall the teaching and learning on show

during the observation was sound, and reflected the amount of commitment, planning and
