My Philosophy of Education

Alyssa Duda

My Classroom Environment
When students walk into my classroom I want them to be able to feel safe and calm. They will know
that my classroom is safe because I will keep the doors locked and make them feel ok. It will be calm
by the lights I put in my room and the seating in the classroom. I will make sure we act like a family by
playing get to know you games all together and all try our best to get along.

My Ideal Classroom
In my classroom the tables will be set up in sets of two. I will assign seats in the beginning of the year
but if they earn my trust as the year goes on they will be allowed to choose where they sit. I will have
lots of lights in my room and fun chairs to sit in. I will also have all the materials in buckets on the back
counter in case they forget something.

Student/Teacher Relationship
I think that having a positive student/teacher relationship is very helpful when learning. I hope to
achieve this by always comforting them and being there for them so that I can hopefully earn their
trust. I would like my students to be comfortable asking me questions about school or coming to me
for advice about the outside world. I will make a chart of the students who may need extra help so that I
know how to be there for them.

Motivating My Students
If my students need extra help I will try to be there and also give them extra class time. I will also try
speaking to them and see if I can help motivate them. If that still does not work I can try to see if I can
find something else that will motivate them. I will try different activities and see if that can keep them
interested.

My Primary Goal
As a teacher, I hope to encourage and inspire my students. I will always try to be there for them so
hopefully they can look up to me. I will try to earn their trust so that they can always come to me if they
need help. I want to achieve this goal so even when they leave and are not my students anymore, they
can still come back to me whenever they need any help.
