My Philosophy of Education

My Classroom Environment
(at least 4 sentences)

I want my students to feel at home when they step into my room. I want the classroom
to feel safe and for the kids to know that it is a haven for them. The students will know
that this is a safe environment for them because I will encourage respectful behaviour
and let kids know and remind them everyday that this is an area where they can be
themselves. I want my students to feel like this is their second family and for the
classroom to feel like their second home. Getting to know each other and being inclusive
will play a major role in my classroom. We will incorporate this by playing fun get to
know each other's games and journaling in the beginning of class. And anytime I know a
student needs help I will always be there for them.

My Ideal Classroom
(at least 4 sentences)

My ideal classroom would be child friendly. I would like to teach elementary kids so I
wouldn't really want a boring looking classroom. I would have flexible seating so comfort
is reached to all kids. I would want encouraging/inspirational posters around my room to
push kids to do well in the classroom. With all of this combined, you can't forget the
colors as well. I don't really think kids would be encouraged to work in a boring grey
classroom.

Student/Teacher Relationship
(at least 4 sentences)
I think having a positive relationship is beneficial to the students due to the fact that they
may feel more comfortable in that class and find it easier to learn. Of course I want to
create a personal relationship with my students! I would actually feel honored if they
came to me for questions. Learning my students' names and needs is going to be my
number one priority so playing to get to know each other's games is a fun way to start
learning people's names. And one way I would check up on them is like a mini warmup
for the class that just asks them how they are feeling and if they need anything.

Motivating My Students
(at least 4 sentences)
I would probably just want to have a positive attitude around my students and hopefully
that will make them happy to work as well. But if not then I can motivate them by playing
games at the end of class. Showing passion while teaching plays a major role in teaching
because nobody wants to be listening to a boring teacher that doesn't even sound
excited to teach about their own subject. And to be fair to everyone I would ask everyone
what their favorite way of learning is. And try to incorporate all of that into a lesson plan
or the activities that the kids are doing for their work. For my classroom at least I think
there is a time for each interactive or just lectures, maybe a little mix of both.

My Primary Goal
(at least 4 sentences)
Honestly I want to impact my kids so positively to the point when they remember me
when they are older. I want to be the teacher that was funny, passionate and fun but still
taught. Building a relationship with my students would have to be the MOST important
thing because I feel as if a student doesn't trust you or don't feel like they can
communicate to you then they won't come to you for help when they need it. My teachers
weren't really there for me when I was younger. They were more of the strict kind and
only cared about you turning your work in 99% of the time. So I want to be what I never
really had.
