SYNTHESIS

The cognitive skills are considered to be the core skills our brain utilizes in order to be able to think, read,
learn, remember, reason and pay attention. Just like a machine, in order for something to function well and
efficiently is to have an underlying framework or scaffold that will enable us to function well. As learners, for
them to be able to think critically, they need these skills to function well.

Cognitive skills thus, provide both the teacher and learners a vital role and that is because almost all our
skills are based from this. We act because our cognitive tells us to, everything we do is because our brains are
telling us to. In the learning process, students benefit from these skills, also the teachers. Cognitive skills are
essential for them since this entails and helps them to know the level of understanding their students have
mentally. That way teachers can figure out what approaches and instruments they need to have in order to give
effective learning to students.
